Default Difference between these two airbag assemblies?

I’ve been looking for a 3LT airbag assembly (black with white/gray stitching) that will fit a 2LT. I keep seeing #85115316 and #85115326. Both are listed as the same exact assembly of black with gray stitching. However one is $300 and one is $600. Can anyone tell me the difference?

I can't answer the question, but no way you're going to get a new airbag assembly for $300. Probably a mistake in the parts database.

Some of them are $300ish and some are $600ish, it’s not a mistake. I just can’t figure out for the life of me on what I should be ordering. None of the threads online help and my local parts department is useless.

I know they're shown at that price, but I doubt you can actually buy one that works in the C8 at that price.

I was looking to swap from a 2LT to a 3LT airbag about a year ago. See this thread:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...hlight=air+bag

At that time, the online parts catalogs listed the airbags with or without dual stage. The best I came up with is the 2LT airbag is dual-stage while most of the 3LT airbags are not. I was never able to confirm this. There were are lot of questions as to why GM would use different stage airbags based on trim. Most of the responses I got said it was a mis-print in the catalogs.

So getting back to your question, I believe the $600 ish airbags are dual stage and the $300 ish are single stage. That's strictly my opinion.

I decided to put the airbag swap on hold until I found an answer as to whether or not the 3LT bags are dual stage. To this day no one has been able to definitively answer that question.

Thanks for the reply, I can't figure it out for the life of me. I've contacted multiple parts departments and none of them know the answer. I have seen a few people swap them out anyway with no codes flashing but idk if that means it'll work.

This. I was going to make the change, but decided I wasn't willing to take the risk, no matter how small, that it won't work.

Someone (Apsis, maybe?) will recover your existing airbag. Means your car will be off the road for a while, but that's probably the safest approach.

Yep, it's Apsis: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...red-nappa.html

The 2020 Service Manual I have has something to say about dual stage air bags. I would take it with caution, since its 1) 2020 version, 2) its the paper ebay copy, and I have found errors in some of it (generally the description sections appear to be generic). However, generally the diagnostic sections and procedures are clearly specific to the C8. So with said, the manual appears to say, in the descriptive section that the air bag in the steering wheel is dual stage. In one of the procedure sections though, it says "Note: If the vehicle is equipped with dual stage air bags the steering wheel module and I/P module will each have 4 wires. Refer to Master Electrical Component List for determining high and low circuits." This may be a clue to a way to tell what airbag you have - but I am not sure. Obviously it would require disassembly to make the determination, so it may not be very helpful;

I'd really like to upgrade mine to the 3LT black leather/silver stitching, but man, all this is giving me a headache trying to digest and make sense of it! If an OEM parts vendors would lay it all out for us as to what's what, my guess is they'd sell a ton of them right off the bat. I emailed a few I've worked with in the past so we'll see if I am able to get a definitive response...

Can anyone who has made the swap confirm whether or not the wiring harness in the both the 2LT steering wheel and 3LT airbag have 4 wires, and that the connector in each has 4 metal contacts?
