So, in your case, it seems GMs 'fix' made the problem better, but did not truly fix the problem?
Now, there is no loud, single tick,- it is improved. I don't know what you mean by fixed. I would call it satisfactory and will monitor for any changes that may warrant further action. Currently 1500 =/- miles.

Fixed means completely eliminating any detectable audible evidence of abnormal engine noise.
I think I may have posted in the wrong thread. I assumed C8Z was referring to Z51 and not Z06. I have the LT2.
Maybe similar issues with both engines?
Checked on mine yesterday. Apparently their “corvette guy” still has it apart.

Totally different valve train set up between the two engines, so not the same

I was referring to similar issues that may be valve train related. Problems with maybe the cams or valves. I assume those engines are made in the same factory or the parts are sourced from the same vendor.
The LT6 does not have a hydraulic lifter or lifter at all. It’s valve on cam, it’s going to tick. The cams are loosening up, or the shims are wrong. Again, it’s going to make a lot more noise than a pushrod motor.

I finaly got mine back from the dealer. They were unable to figure out what was causing the tick. The technician who tore down the engine was unable to find the cause. After they had a engineer look it over they just decided to replace the motor.
Runs great now.
