I am posting in this section to capture the largest possible number of readers in search of information. Have any of you bracket raced a C8? If so please post your starting line techniques and reaction times with leaving with the foot pedal vs paddles. The question here being the ability to have consistent and low reaction times not the fastest possible trap MPH or ET. Thanks for sharing your information..
I don't bracket race buy do street legal drags at our local track. My C8 is very consistent and predictable. Time slip from my last two runs this fall. I use launch control in sport mode and let it shift.
Thanks for posting. I noted your reaction time varied by .3 seconds between your two runs. Did anything influence the difference in the reaction times? Thanks for your information and help

Other lane staged too deep and had to back up. This caused me to start launch control too early and learnt that it times out. Restarted launch control and left the line before it hit 3500 rpms.
OK, I have not been to the track with my C8. I have made many passes in other cars in competitive bracket racing. Your cars performance will be more predictable and consistent than the driver will ever be. Your routine to establish repeatable performance is what really matters. Stage the same way every time. Burn out (if any) on slicks / street tires? Footbrake. Bump into staging. Light top Prestage bulb. Wait for the other lane to do the same. Bump into just lighting the staged bulb. You are trying to achieve the same roll out distance to start the clock on your pass. Let the trans do the shifts in auto mode. Leave on last yellow............ Check your reaction time and adjust to get closer to good (0.0X) Only change one thing at a time when developing driving habits / routine. Keep a log book to keep track of the variables. Bracket racing is all about consistent car and driver performance, with the driver most likely to be the cause for deviation in performance. Like anything else, it takes practice and experience to get good at driving a bracket car.
All of the above is VERY TRUE , thanks for your post. Since I don't own and have not had a chance to take a C8 to the track I want to avoid a major disaster buying a C8 only to find that the computer controls on the C8 DCT either in footbrake or launce control delay the reaction time of the car and if so is the delay consistent and predictable. Many owners have posted timeslips for the eval of vehicle performance with and without modifications and those timeslips have quite variable reaction times up to 1+ seconds. So my question is when reaction time has been the focus of the timed event what have the results been when leaving off of the throttle or launch control. Per the published reports it is not possible to "footbrake" the DCT.
