May make handful or little more HP as a single mod. Less if adding to other combined mods. Most are not even making claims. They do weigh less. Some offer 300 or 400 cell count. Will make any exhaust louder. To what degree is preference. Also what exhaust you have can make a difference in sound.
Main thing is research and try to have an understanding of your ultimate goals and find which way is best to get there with what parts.
2M cat deletes make your car louder. Others might state … go high flow.
Spend your $ the way you want. I’ll just leave it that that. Honestly I would NOT spend $ on high flow cats. Cat deletes …
Here's my thread detailing my aFe headers & Corsa cats, which I installed at separate times a few months apart so I could judge them on their own separately, and together as a pair: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...port-cats.html
I saw some reviews that showed that the OEM cats flow really well, and they should, they are massive. So installing a different set of cats probably won't change all that much... if I go this route, I will simply get the cat delete pipes for like $200. The labor to install the damned things will cost more than the pipes... haha
Was watching a video where the guy cut open the stock cat, showing that the internals are twice the diameter of the inlet and outlet end, and discussed why they flow really well from the factory by increasing the surface area so much... I am not saying they can't be improved... and you can certainly get ones that make it louder...

Yeah.....that Carlos Rios from Florida. He has the quickest C8 in the world for right now. Don't know if that improved any performance but it has to be costly regarding the labor. Cut and gut kind of make sense though. Doing it that way at least you're not wasting your cats. Something to think about.
What's the average price these days for labor for installing a set of aftermarket cats, or a set of cat delete pipes? I have found cat delete pipes for like $200, and then I might have to add a couple bucks for the O2 sensor extenders to not throw a CEL... But I have a feeling that the labor to install them will be a LOT more than the parts themselves?
I am lucky to live in a county in GA that doesn't require emissions testing, so I am not worried much about that... I would keep the stock CATs so that when I sell or trade in the car in a few years, I can pass them on to the next owner in case they want or need them.

$500-800 on average I'd say.
My shop of choice here in DFW, TX is about $600.

Ouch. That's the infamous Corvette Tax I guess... haha
I am used to my trucks, or my Mustang where I drive in to the local muffler shop and they remove the muffler or the breadbox on the Stang, and weld in a straight or an X-Pipe and send me on my way for $200 for parts and labor, in like 30 min...
Apparently, this, will not be that.
Wouldn't mind it a bit louder, but parts and labor for $800-$1000 is a bit steep for a simple cat removal, and then I still have to worry about dealing with a potential CEL... Hmmm....
Not really Corvette tax or "simple" when it comes to the C8 cats (they're inside the engine bay). You either need to remove the headers or the muffler system; the intake comes out too.
I recycled my stock cats to offset the installation cost.
Kracka How much did you get for your OEM cats? Scrap Yard?
There's a recycler on here that I sold them to; covered about half the cost of my Corsas but I know values have come down considerably post-pandemic. Let me see if I can find his contact info again...
