Default Drilling Into Rear Facia

I have a 2023 3LT HTC and I would like to drill two holes in the rear facia that align with the two holes in the bottom of my license plate. Can someone tell me if it would be safe to lightly drill through the rubber facia so I could put in two of the license plate fasteners. Just don’t want to drill through any wires but it looks like there might be a bit of dead air space directly behind the rubber facia.
Thanks in advance,
Bert

It is dumb that they only have two screw holes for the top of the license plate.

For the record. I have had 4 Vettes since 2005 and none had more that e holes. No Problem. In fact none of my cars that I have owned since 1959 had more than 2 holes.

I agree about the 2 bolts. On my C8 I currently have a heavy metal plate behind my license plate, a metal frame, and then my plate. Zero worries. Unless your bolting a tow hitch to it, you should be fine lol. If you were really worried, go ahead and buy some good double sided tape and put behind plate then mount, but completely unnecessary

Attached is what I used. It is mounted only with the two top holes. The bottom two plate fasteners are just dummies. There is also a clear plastic cover - the fastener head/covers are on the outside of the clear plastic. Yes, I am aware that covers, even completely clear ones, may be illegal. I have never been stopped for that - but I have been stopped for no front tag.
