Short version, we purchased the car in 2022, still had 2 free oil changes left,on the last oil change at mileage 4566,they did oil and filter changed AND changed the transmission filter. At that time I did not know about the 7500 mile dct filter/flush change procedure ( so obviously it wasn't done at that time) I've now twice got the CEL and the "idle creep temporarily disabled " message. And you know the rest only shifts odd gears etc...also of course warranty is gone, and we did not get extended warranty ( We know so please don't flame me ) my question is when I take the car to the dealer should or would it make a difference in the cost ? Obviously we all want to save $$ but I feel it should have been changed again at 7500 miles as GM states. What's the thoughts as to how to approach the service department ? Thanks for any info and input ! P.s sorry ended up NOT being a "short version ".
Powertrain warranty is 5 years/60k miles. Yes, you should have done the DCT filter change again @ 7,500 miles (plus or minus 500). Bring it in to the dealer and see what they say; it may just need fresh fluid & filter.

Pretty certain the power train is 5/60. Trans is power train. As long as the maintenance was performed as required you shouldn't have an issue claiming warranty.
I believe one only had 1 year to receive the free oil and filter change early on. I’m guessing you’re out of luck there. However you should still be covered on the powertrain warranty.
Will be VERY interested to hear how they handle this DCT issue, having missed the 7500 change. IMO you should be "grandfathered" since this was not the rule (per owners manual) for that model year. But we shall see if they do the right thing...
You have 24 months from delivery to claim the free service. It expires at 24 months and there is no mileage limit on it. None. You can claim it at 2500 miles (which I did), or you can wait and claim it at any other mileage so long as its within 2 years. I realize that some dealers tell a different story, But the terms of the free service can be seen in you Warranty Tracker if you log in to your mychevyaccount.
The confusion is that the time period for claiming the free service is entirely independent from the required maintenance for the engine oil, oil filter, and DCT filters.
Engine oil and filter is at least once a year, or when the OLM says so. The OLM incorporates the time, but also other factors. So, it will indicate an oil change at least once a year.
The DCT filter first change is at 7,500 miles (and always has been). It has no time limit. Later documentation, including the 2024 owners manual, further clarified the tolerance around the 7,500 miles to be between 7000-8000 miles. Even if done early, it still must be changed again at 7,500 miles. Starting 2022 (I think it was), there is also a DCT filter life monitor. I have not seen much discussion about exactly how it works.
If a car is beyond the 2 year mark, or if the free service was already claimed, you will not get another free service for the DCT filter from GM. Also, there is a single claim for the free service, which includes both the engine oil, filter and DCT filter. Separate claims for an oil change and a DCT filter change cannot be submitted to GM.

So if the reason I've gotten the "Idle creep temporarily disabled " message twice now is because I did not do the 7500 miles DCT filter change/procedure I'm pretty much looking to pay the full price for the fix ? Is that correct ?

I would not assume that until the dealer looks into it - and if it comes up - the dealer/GMs response. It did not necessarily cause the problem. The diagnostic procedures include progressive steps to see if one solves the problem. Among the steps, in many cases, are a Hydraulic System Flush, a filter change, and fluid change. Some even include replacement of the internal filter. These steps might fix it (perhaps at your expense), or might lead to a valve body replacement, transmission replacement, or something else. I do agree that if it comes up, you should at least make the case that the clarifications about the 7,500 miles came later.

I don't think there's any connection between the error and the filter change. Unless the filter is so clogged it's causing a problem.
