Default Cerakote vs. wrap

I've always wrapped my exhaust/headers, I think it's a throw back from when I was younger, where I spent all my money on the exhaust components & didn't leave anything for heat mitigation. So I've gotten pretty good at wrapping the exhaust systems. Obviously this means I've never used any ceramic coating on exhausts. My question is do the ceramic coating really limit the convectional & radiant heat from escaping the primaries of the headers like the wraps do? Can you apply both a ceramic & wrap on top? lastly do you apply the ceramics to both inside & out or just outside?

I'm going down this rabbit hole with Corsa & it's becoming obvious they designed their exhaust system components to compliment each other from the headers to the cats & then the exhaust. The only problem I don't like is all the heat shielding that is removed without something replacing it. I've purchased the cat blankets & considering wrapping the X-pipe on the exhaust with some DEI wrap & wire sleeving to help protect harness' & hoses. The real concern though is the headers & the most effective way to keep the heat inside the plumbing all the way out the back...

Any thoughts or recommendations would be great.

I'm still searching this forum, it's just not very effective or I'm not effective at searching it, not sure which...

Thx

Mine are AFE Ceramic coated inside and out, don't notice any more heat than OEM. I'm in Alabama where it gets pretty toasty.

Geez that looks real clean. Unless you spend the time & spray the exhaust wrap over & over with heat cycles in between spray coats, the wrap tends to frizz & you end up with fibers everywhere in the engine bay. Thinking I might try ceramic coating this time.

Did you send off your headers to have them coated? if so where? or did they come already coated?

thx,
Wormwood

Cerakote coated here in TX, and my engine bay temps run cooler now than they did when stock, even in the dead of Texas summer heat.

I bought the coated aFe headers (Cerakote Titanium ceramic outside and Copper ceramic inside) then sent my Corsa cats to SoCal Porting to have them coated to match in Cerakote Titanium ceramic. Lots of info on the exact coating types, pictures, etc. in my thread here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...port-cats.html
