Default Help identify this caliper

New pre-owned c8 owner. 2lt non z51 per window sticker. Is this a z51 rear caliper?
Also picture of front.

If you're not trusting that decal on the caliper, the best way would be to measure the rotor size. If I recall, it should be 350mm for rear, and 345mm for front for Z51.

Other than physical size of rotors the calipers look the same? Sorry for the question new to corvettes.
No history with prior owner just trying to figure out if they upgraded brakes. Would front calipers have z51 decal?

Are you implying that the prior owner lied about the accident history or that he sold the OEM calipers on ebay and replaced them with aftermarket garbage in order to make 257 bucks?

There have been a few reports of the factory installing the wrong calipers so this wouldn't be the first.

I don't think those are Z51 calipers,, but just my opinion. First, they only came with Z51 package unless added after the fact, which is doable. The real tell are the pins that hold the pads in the front. Your picture shows a pointy end meaning the pin was pushed through from back of caliper. Z51 uses screws.

I don’t think the car was hit. The odd thing is only the left rear says Z 51. The right rear looks like all the others. I will see if there’s any identifying numbers.
Carfax is clean, which I know doesn’t always tell the full story. It does show the car was brought into a dealer for drivability issue around 3000 miles. And maintenance performed around 5k. Car now has 6k. Does that look like an aftermarket caliper to some of the experts?

Here's a picture of my rear base (non-Z51) caliper. Looks to be quite a bit different than your first picture. This is off of a 2023 car, though I suspect not a lot different through the years.'

Do you have a picture of the other rear caliper??

Those red calipers in your pics appear to be powder coated, not painted. The prior owner probably had them powder coated and the vendor placed the Z51 sticker on by mistake. IMO

also for what it’s worth Red Painted Calipers was one of the selected options on window sticker. Also the Z51 lettering is gold, pic makes it look black.
