PSA: Ultimate9 Throttle Controller - The fix
If interested the install is simple:
Tools needed: a 10mm socket to remove the gas pedal (this simplifies the wire connection to the pedal)
1. Remove rubber grommet on the gas pedal and remove 10mm bolt
2. Slide gas pedal forward toward seat
3. Push RED locking clip "up" and fiddle with it until the pedal connector disconnects. I found that pushing on the black retainer under the red tab releases the connector easier
4. Plug in the Ultimate9 connector
5. Run the wires under the carpet and place the controller where you can see it to make easy adjustments on the fly
That's it.
Similar connector with the red tab
Just curious: does this let you control it with your cell phone, via Bluetooth, like the Soler does?

This, from the web site, is worrisome:
Automatic Mode: Sets the EVC apart from other throttle controllers. A.C. automatically chooses an Ultimate Mode throttle response based on the amount of pedal pressure. Great for long drives or when towing over varying terrains.
I was not aware that he C8 pedal measured pedal pressure! Hint: It doesn't. Too funny....

The red clip prevents the tab from being pushed down, which is the actual release mechanism.
