Anyone know of a quick disconnect for these cars? Seems a hassle to always remove the panel / side pieces every time, especially for those who track and need to replace pads all the time.
Agree, I leave the 2 side pieces of trim off. And only have to remove the large center section. But agree its a pain...
I admit that I've spread the pads and with in two seconds swapped out one pad at a time without disconnecting the battery.

Do you use the remove caliper method, or leave caliper on method?
Just lookup “Remote Battery Disconnect Switch” on Amazon. They are pretty cheap. Just wire to the ground lead.
Well I was sort of looking for what anyone has done to prevent removal of the panels, a battery disconnect is easy, having to remove the panels all the time is a pain...

I leave the caliper in place.
I remove the cross pin and all 4 pad bolts.
expand the pads (compressing the caliper pistons).
At this point if the car goes into brake test mode, no harm would be done.
I remove the old pad and slide in the replacement. about as fast as I can say or type this sentence.
That is the only time I'm at risk for that second or 2.

I tend to do the same thing, line everything up with new pad in hand and take old one out, maybe a second where there isnt a pad in front of the piston. I also ensure I dont have my keys on me but I got lazy disconnecting battery every time.
