Front bumper cover and mirrors is where 90+% of the impacts/bug strikes are going to be, so it's the most bang for the buck. I've done more in the past, but on my new ERay I'm going to go back to just that as I really don't see the need for anything else.
In my experience, the area right before the rear tire is constantly bombarded with road debris. On my new C8, I got the PPF film for rocker panels that also included that area...
I had mine done with the same as Karch, and ceramic over the whole car. My Ceramic Pro Elite Installer has done 5 vehicles for me so far and hasn't steered me wrong, I'm OCD about paint chips 🤣

If you choose to go the ceramic route I would consider a couple of things.
Is the installer doing it in a climate controlled environment?
Are they using infrared curing?
How many layers of ceramic?
Is it 9h rated?
This will let you know about what you can expect from the application. Curing is important to the coat and impacts the longevity and paint protection, not all places are equal. If you are looking for protection, a 9h application would be best, if just using it for hydrophobicity less than 9h would suffice. Further, which product also impact attributes such as gloss, depth, protection. The Vette and all other cars below were ceramic pro, whereas the sq5 (blue) was gtechniq. My M5 had the silver package (2 coats), the rs5 had the gold package (3 coats) and sq5 had 3 coats of qtechniq. I found hardness and depth to be better with gtechniq, but my Ceramic Pro installer is a better detailer so prefer to use them:
