This is the 2nd time my corvette has had this error code P12F0 -exhaust system.
The first time was opening her up before the engine got warm
The second time was similar opening up to an immediate slow down
the first time dealer said it wasn’t an issue the check engine light cleared on it own I don’t know if they even checked it and it did the same after a day of letting her sit check engine cleared on its own I have another service planned later this week just in case
Has anyone else had this problem or any future problems to look out for with this code?
PF120 indicates (if valid) an issue with one of the Cylinder Deactivation Exhaust Flow Control Valves. There are two of those in the muffler - I think this code indicates its the one for Bank 2, but I am not certain. The car learns the travel of the valves when actuated, and any departure from that (like a stuck valve) is detected. It can also be caused by other issues, like control modules or wiring harness. There is a diagnostic procedure for determining the cause - the code alone does not tell the tech what the cause is. From the procedure, it appears that this code will sometimes have other codes associated with it. Were there any? Anyway, if it keeps coming back, it might be resolved with the "Learn" procedure. Or the tech may have to (and should) go though the diagnostic procedure to find the issue.
