Default Z Mode, Track Mode, Competition Mode differences?

I just bought a Z51 C8 non PTM, without mag suspension.

Anybody know the difference between Z mode, Track Mode, and competition Mode?

The only thing I can tell is competition Mode enables launch control and Z mode is editable but if I match the Track modes settings are they exactly the same? Wondering if the car changes anything beyond what I can edit between these modes?

Welcome and congrats on a new car, Z mode and my mode are configured settings for the car and with your options should allow you to change throttle response, exhaust note, brake and steering feel. Mag ride cars can change suspension softness. You can also select which gauge design you prefer and it will link to the driving mode.

Track mode is preselected from factory with everything in the most aggressive setting. You can mirror this with my mode and Z mode. Functionally they would be the same.

If you turn the car off in my mode it will restart in that preselected mode or else it will just start up and touring mode if turned off in any other mode.

You can make this do what ever you want. My current set up is to have my mode completely soft with the lightest steering and throttle response but the loudest exhaust so when I start it is the most obnoxious. I then used Z mode for my general driving and it mimics track mode with PTM set to sport but im able to access with the push of a button and quickly turn off and get the suspension to soften quickly if I see a patch of rough road.

Competition mode is accessed by pressing the traction control button, it allows for limited wheel spin and a slight drift while not allowing the car to completely rotate. It is a nice medium between having some ability to slide around while the computer still available to help keep it in check. Press and hold that button to turn all assist off.

Hope that helps, it should be outlined in the manual and youtube has some nice videos to show it as well.

I know you need to be in Z/M mode to set up the dash pages how you would like. However, with all of the options available I still can't get the ideal dash display for me. Also new to the C8.

I find the manual almost worthless as they try to instruct on how to configure anything in the car. They need a readable table to show what options are available in each category for the dash. The damn HUD will not stay on the visual that I like (again I can't get all of the info I want.). I've read the manual but can't get it to stay.

Looks like I will be spending a lot of time on YouTube...

Welcome!

You bought the best C8 to modify for the track if that's your goal. It's the lightest assuming you also went without the front lift. I'll explain:

Competition Mode (2 menus)
Both menu unlocks full power and you must be in Track Mode to access it (double click TCS off like you mean it) If you don't get it into Comp Mode it's because you weren't fast enough... I'm serious it really wants to know that you meant it.
1) 1st menu unlocks full power with TCS off but keeps ESC on
2) HOLD it longer (10 seconds) and you'll unlock full power with TCS off and also ESC off
3) Instant dct shifts but I drive on Manual mode for full control of the car during ALL CONDITIONS
4) Steering feel stiffen

Track Mode
1) Slightly less power than Comp Mode
2) You can keep TCS on and ESC on
3) You can disable TCS and keep ESC on
4) Instant dct shifts
5) Steering feel stiffen

Z Mode
1 touch button to program the car's behavior (steering feel, shifting, etc), however, except one condition... you can't get into Comp Mode this way. See Competition Mode

You must be in Track or Sport to access Competition Mode (it does not work in Tour), at least my 23 Stingray would allow Comp Mode in Sport as well as Track.
