GM sent letters detailing when the trans filter replacement must be and when Trans Fluid change needing to be done either at 45,000 miles or 3 years whichever is 1st. Yes Oil change mileage clock starts at 50 miles then counts down. I meant Invoice Date to dealer not sale date as many dealers have tons of 2025's on lots over a year old and those warranty's are already down a year
Clock starts on Build Date. I have a 2023 HTC and received a notice on Trans Fluid change to be done by 9/10/2025 car built 9/10/2022 also just purchased 3 yr 60k miles GM Warranty starts 9/10/2025

My warranty start date appears to have been when the car was invoiced to the dealer - neither the build date nor the delivery date (not that it proves anything about the start date for the transmission - it just illustrates inconsistency). Others have seen different start dates for their warranty.
Also, according to a GM bulletin about the oil life system (not the transmission fluid), the oil life system has a built in 50 mile delay before the countdown starts. So, at least for oil life it would seem that the clock starts after 50 miles which will typically be after delivery, rather than build date.
I found no similar documentation about the clock start for the transmission fluid replacement.

I should have been more clear - I was asking about the notice you received with a "change by" date (9/10/2025) that was specific to your car and was exactly three years from the build date (9/10/2022) (or invoice date if that is what you meant). Where did that come from? I never received a letter with a specific "change by" date like that.
Yes, I received the "general" letter from GM last year in 2024 about the transmission service requirements (DTC filter and fluid change requirements). But that letter was general and simply states that the transmission fluid must be changed "every three years at a minimum", without stating when the clock starts. The owners manual is the same way - does not specify when the clock starts.

The warranty and maintenance requirements start from the date the car was first put into service. As long as those cars sitting on the lots have not been put into service (dealer demos, etc.) then the warranty will start on the day a buyer purchases the car. Sometimes the date has to be adjusted in the system. My car required the system date to be updated because the system reflected a different date than when I purchased the car.
"The warranty period for all coverages begins on the date the vehicle is first delivered or
put in use and ends at the expiration of the
coverage period."
Mine, however, was activated earlier, more like the invoice date - which was before it was even loaded onto the truck. As noted @RKCRLR had a similar "error" and was able to get it changed.
Warranty starts when the dealer RDRs the car using the date you picked up the car. Cars time sitting on lot doesn’t matter. Unless. Dealer punched car RDRd to gain program money. Does happen.
