Default Borla Exhaust Tips

Hello Borla Exhaust Owners,
Getting very close to buying an ATAK soon, but want to make sure the tips I want aren’t going to discolor or require a lot of attention. So, I like the look of the black chrome & the carbon fiber. For those that have these installed, please comment on likes or dislikes of either of these and how long you’ve had them. If you’ve noticed any discoloration, or hard to keep clean, etc…

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Yeldawb I have a Borla S-Type on my C8 but I think the tips are the same as the ATAK. I bought my exhaust with the black chrome tips about 3 years ago. I liked them then and I still do. They still look good with no special attention - I just hit them with soap and water whenever I wash the car. No discoloration.

I can't speak to the carbon fiber tips, someone else will have to chime in.

I can't speak for the Borla tips specifically, but the CF type tips I suspect are all made similarly. Mine turned brown after one track event.

Have the ATAK on my 2020, no discoloration on the black chrome tips.

We've sold/installed a lot of them over the years and never have had any issues.

Also have ATAK systems in stock and would be happy to extend forum pricing.

Can install too if interested

I've seen the borla logo on their carbon tips yellow. Its sort of the nature of the material to yellow over time when exposed to high heat cycles. To avoid this just don't buy the carbon tip option. Happy to go over inventory status and forum deals together.

We've had customers with these exhausts for 5+ years now, no issues. The carbon ones did change colors but Borla is good with their warranties.

We have all variants in stock, feel free to reach out for a quote.

My biggest concern when I bought my borla was the tips as well as the valves. Looking at warranty it looks like they changed it to 1 year which is misleading to the million mile as advertised.

Mine have discolored (black chrome) from a few of months of track use, so not really a lot of use. If you don't track the car, probably not an issue.
