Well, I purchased my C8 HTC with an aftermarket Halltech Hornet dry filter system already in place. Of course, you probably know this, but you have to access it from the trunk, the rear trunk. You have to remove the storage net hooks, and then remove all of the other connectors and cover before you can access the actual filter cover. Then, you have to remove all of the screws around the filter cover to actually gain access to the air filter.
By the way, while you have the rear inner cover off, you might buy some heat reduction insulation material to apply to the inside of the inner trunk cover which will help reduce the heat in that storage area.
Remove carpet-the two holders have 4 T15 screws to remove and the 4 tree pushpins on the floor to remove then take out the carpet.
Remove the panel-many T15 screws and remove the panel
Remove the airbox cover- 6 8mm bolts and remove filter
Install filter- notch facing up
Reverse everything and enjoy new filter!
