Default gas tank fuel consumption sequence?

Does anyone know which gas tank gets emptied first (drivers or passenger side) while driving? Or, are they both providing fuel at the same time so that both tanks would run dry at the same time? My reason for asking this question is that we have crappy 91 octane fuel available at most pumps here in CA and I want to add some higher octane fuel before taking it to the drag strip. I have noticed that the car will pull timing during a WOT pass with the 91 octane fuel and want to try and eliminate that at the strip. The drag strip is 110 miles from my home and there is a station with race gas available at the pump about 1/2 way between home and the drag strip. There is also race gas available at the strip. I could save some money on the expensive race gas if I waited until I got to the track but I'm worried that it might not mix well enough with the remaining 91 gas before making my first pass. However, if I added the race gas at the stop 1/2 way, the remaining 50 miles of driving should allow enough time to thoroughly mix with the 91. Thoughts?

Both tanks are drawn down relatively evenly.
