I'm looking for wheels in the stock sizes and offsets for a C8 that will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the rotating unsprung weight. Wheels are for track use, looks aren't important. LIGHT AND STRONG is what I'm looking for.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Dollar for dollar you cannot beat Apex’s forged monoblock wheels. Light, Strong, Proven.
Apex are great, I use VT Forged, they can build to any load spec you want if you want something stronger than the typical forged wheel. Built to any spec you want in terms of diameter, width offset and finish. Cost is similar to Apex
It's hard to validate quality on such wheels. Perhaps it's the same manufacturer, perhaps another one copying the design, and if it's the same, there's no longer quality control. For such an important part of the car, I'd not do it, but it's up to you..
I've also been running a bit sceptical on completely custom wheels. I do have a few sets myself (BC Forged), which have never failed, but I always wonder how strong it really is, since they're not testing every custom version of their wheels, and some offsets definitely stress the wheel more, which MUST have less than that 1600 lb rating they claim... Oh well; I'm probably overthinking it, but you get the idea : )

I agree with you, that"s why I'll stay with OEM if I ever get my car from the stop sale. Thought interesting going straight to manufacture

A good motorsport wheel like the Apex options or stepping up to a Forgeline ect. are going to be much stronger than a flow formed OEM wheel I would think. Unless by OEM you meant going direct to Apex rather than a Chinese distributer.
We should also note forged wheels are only stronger per pound. With high focus on being very light, some of those fully forged wheels will inevitably be weaker than OEM, regardless of the manufacturing process.
+1 on Apex; they're designed specifically for track, with reinforced spokes and inner lip, etc, and I'd trust them for track use.

I ran a set of them this entire season, they are absolutely identical to the ones I purchased from Apex and they were only $1200 direct from the source. Even the powder coat is identical.
FYI, you can find the Manufacturer in China that makes Apex’s forged wheels on Alibaba and buy them direct for 1/3 of the price…..
If you really think that's our wheel manufacturer, you're out of your depth. Plain and simple. You should be careful making false claims like this, it could hurt someone. Zero wheels designed by our team are sold on Alibaba. Any seller on there claiming to be our manufacturer is lying to you. I don't know how else to explain it to people. Spoke depth, spoke geometry, inner lip design, weight, laser engraving, barrel shape/taper, everything that matters is dramatically different to an actual Apex wheel. You can easily spot these differences if you actually look at the wheels being offered in real life, not the Alibaba images they're stealing from our website/social media.
I'm not claiming we created the split 5 spoke design or that we don't currently produce forged wheels in China, because we do, and we've never been shy about that. All the design and testing is done here in the States by our full staff of accomplished engineers, along with ITS and STL.
THE WHEELS ON ALIBABA ARE NOT REAL APEX WHEELS. They are fake and not the same. You haven't cracked the code or found the loophole. You're buying super cheap wheels that are made super cheaply. I've got some oceanfront property in Wyoming I'll sell you for a good deal.

/end rant
I mean I’d expect nothing less as a response. But I have a set of your “real” apex wheels ordered from your website and a set of these ones from Alibaba and they are literally identical down to the weight and the color. Hoops are the same, spokes are the same, nothing looks even suspect side by side. If they are not your manufacturer, cool, my clear mistake.. Then they are EXCEPTIONAL clones and appear to be every bit as durable as I’ve beat the **** out of them and will continue to buy from them.
With all this said, what makes you think that a Chinese manufacturer would be loyal to you? They do whatever they want without recourse. Would take nothing for them to take your “design” and offer it to the public under a different name and you could never prove otherwise. The same Chinese companies make products for dozens of American based businesses, hell look at all the rebranded cranks and connecting rods that come out of the same Shanghai foundry so to think they would do this to you is not far fetched.

i purchased a set of monoblocks
from VTforged. I dropped 26 lbs. Very happy with them.
They also offer magnesium wheels which would be even lighter.
