which is why I asked the question, IF you use the Valvoline fluid, they will know.
Simple solution: if you have a transmission problem, drain the Valvoline fluid out and put the ACDelco fluid in before bringing it to the dealer for warranty work.

Not so simple as about 4 liters of fluid doesn't drain out. If they wanted to push the issue of not using AC Delco fluid it would be easy to test.

I use Amsoil, and it seems to be the same color as the AcDelco variant. I use Amsoil, since it's (supposedly) a wee bit better in high temp and heavy duty use tolerance, and I mainly use the car for track. It's also priced well with their cheap annual membership.
