E85 blend to E20 to help with slight ping/knock
In CA, we can only get 91 and often that's with 15% ethanol already. I have noticed in the upper gears at lower RPM, slight throttle a faint but recognizable knock and pre ignition ping. Ive tried a few different gas stations with the same results. So out of curiosity and just an experiment I added about 2.5gal of E85 to top off a tank of 91. This should have got me close to E20 and about 93oct. Not heard the ping/knock since! No other issues as a result.

I am in SoCal also and have noticed the knocking when I am chilling on the highway in auto mode and the AFM 4 cylinder mode kicks in and there are mild hills where the knocking occurs on the inclines. When this occurs I pop out of auto mode and generally downshift.
interesting idea to mix E85.

It cleaned the knocking right up. Think Ill try to stick with ~E20 from now on if the station has E85 on hand.
I ran E30 from the pump at our local stations. They have E15, E30 and E85 (E65 to E67 is what we actually get at our pumps). I didn't have any issues till our temps started coming down here in Missouri last fall. Once it got down into the 30s at night and I'd go out to start the car, once I started rolling the check engine light would come on. It was just too cold for even E30 with no FF sensor. So, I'm back to running premium till spring when the temps start to rise again. I love E, yes you'll get a few miles less, but you're going to gain around 15 to 20 rwhp. These cars have wide bands so they can make some adjustments to compensate for the additional ethanol over E10 which is pretty normal now at any service station. I ran E65 in both my 2022 Camaro and C7.
I run E30 all the time in my Eray. It works great. I have a Fuel-It Bluetooth Ethanol Analyzer plumbed into the system. I can check my Ethanol mix on my phone. It's pretty cool. I also have a full E85 tune that I run sometimes as well. The station I use has E85 that is actually E85, not E67 or something.

I think most have found the blend line to be about 3 gals of E85 if that's what your station actually has (mine are E65) and 15 gal of 93 to get somewhere around E30.
Too bad your stations don't have the E30 at the pumps like ours, it takes the guess work out of it. According to the guy I talked to that checks all the fuel at the stations in Missouri to make sure they are complying with what's on the pumps, the E30 is 93 to 94 octane,.
