Default Silly or Dumb question Not sure which.

So are C8 Corvettes really that delicate that you have to disconnect the battery for just about any work you have to do on the car? Something as simple as swapping the paddle shifters . Swapping the Air box and the throttle body? When I had my Gen 5 Camaro I swapped the head unit out with no issues without disconnecting the battery. Maybe I've just been lucky I guess.

In many cases it forces a re-set/learn of the system /part you are working on and some cases it prevents accidents by DIYers

Well, with computer repairs, it is also prudent to reduce static electricity... rubber floor mats, gloves, etc I have seen.
Could be the same for a Vette, a way to prevent a voltage spike or spark.
Especially regarding brakes, the Vette has a random system check, that if the battery is not disconnected, problems
may occur.
I've found all settings are retained with only the window index relearn needed if the battery is disconnected.

My 2 cents is to disconnect the battery, yes for the paddle shifter and airbox/ TB, and not gamble
PS Make sure to have the door windows rolled down/ open.

Have fun

Thank you. Understood. I worked in the electronics field for 39 years . Just retired 2 months ago. I figured the grounding in the Vette would be really good to protect all the electronics.
