The person who came up with that number accurately leaked/drew/described the interior before it was known. Many thought he might have seen an interior model, but without the exterior. So he may have been looking at the Zora interior and quoted $169k.
That would have to be something like 4zr/4lt all boxes checked.
He told me that too, and then three years later he said no one dropped, that is when I knew I could not trust what he says. With him you don't put any money down, which sounds great, but in my experience it was worth exactly what I paid for it. It is my guess that he has his favorites who he takes care of, and if you are not one of those, they can step in line ahead of you, and you get fed some BS. I have bought from many corvette dealers over the years, and by far the best is Sean McCann and Matt Blundo at Stingray Chevrolet. I almost don't want to tell people that since I dont want more competition for their allocations, but they deserve to be called out.
The cars not been announced yet. Im willing to bet, that more than likely many names will drop off the list because they have multiple deposits at multiple dealers.they’ll go with the first allocation that pops up.
With nothing more than a CC# down, there’s little reason why people wouldn’t have deposits at Criswell as well as the other top names.
Im sure the other dealers you’ve mentioned are great. I picked Criswell personally for a few reasons..one, I didn’t want to put money down to reserve a spot for something that doesn’t exist.
Not all that dissimilar to overpaying my taxes and giving the Government an interest free loan.
Also chose Criswell for his experience and because he’s sponsored here, I also have heard only good things about him.
I have no other deposits down. How he deals with me will determine if he gets my business for future purchases but I have no doubts I won’t be disappointed.
Because its basically a running joke on these forums. $169k was the “confirmed” starting price of the C8 according to some “insider” poster... because everyone knows a mid engined Corvette would be big bucks. We all know how that worked out.
But yes, I think that most agree a halo C8 with 1000+ HP via a twin turbo FPC with hybrid technology could definitely be in that ballpark. Still doesn’t validate that ridiculous prediction.
I know the the story I followed whole thread that time. It was a running joke that the base c8 would be 169000 because zerv wouldn’t stop preaching it but a zr1/zora model will probably be up there at that price point was my point so I didn’t understand why it was like a joke is all since that’s proudly accurate for that car.
