Default Criswell Wait List

So I've seen threads on the other two from the big three and am curious how everyone is feeling about Mike's list? Anyone thinking about jumping ship to join Ciocca's list or are you just going to ride it out.

we are hearing on the forums a lot of guys with stingrays are dropping off the list when called to order. Also there are many people on two lists possibly three lz06 lists.

hopefully as z06 drops down to msrp in the secondary markets people will only keep at most one reservation.

the Eray is a more viable option and at speeds under 130 mph a viable performance option as well.

production of the Eray could in fact ease z06 demand by a good 20 percent. GMs corporate fuel economy could convince bowling green to produce more wide body erays compared to the more thirsty Z06 as well. Hard to say. We need driving impressions and Eray road tests to see the full effect on demand for the z06. I think and it’s just a guess what inside the Eray cockpit sounds like could change the demand shift between models.

like I mentioned above I am just guessing. None of us have crystal *****. We are all just guessing.

forums are for shooting the breeze with different ideas sometimes before all the facts are known.

meanwhile most or many of us are just enjoying our stingrays.

I have cancer. My wife has stage 4 brain cancer. I don’t even know if I’ll be alive by the time Mike calls me for a z06 or if I’ll even care if I am still alive.

whether or not I get a Z06 is just a pleasant distraction. I have millions of dollars and zero debt. Doesn’t make much of a difference as I can’t buy good health. Keep that as a matter of perspective guys.

I wouldn’t get too upset about the delivery time of a car if I were you guys.

Do we know anything about Mike's list?

In other words, how many are on it by now, and how you can determine your position within it?

I’m currently on Mike’s list. I joined back in June. When we spoke he said usually about 60% of the people on the list will end up leaving. Not sure if that will remain true for the Z06. He doesn’t number the list so there’s no way to tell where you are in the grand scheme of things. He time stamps when people are added to the preorder list but doesn’t number them. I’ll be sticking with him and not jumping ship at this point.

I just had a guy coming in my Mercedes Dealership looking for a GT saying he was just at the local Corvette dealer and they told him 4 years... Criswell is closest to us so it may be there but not 100% sure

I’d hardly want to jump ship after over a year and a half on Mike’s list, haven’t received a call from him yet but am expecting it soon. I’ve heard it’s in the high 800’s but how they got there spot on his list is beyond me because Mike says he doesn’t give out a number, he’s been doing this a long time and knows what works. He expects a 45% drop off.
I’m guessing I’ll have a year one but maybe late or a year two car?

I got into Mike's deal folder system back when the C8 was first launched, so I've been sitting there for a couple of years. I still don't know what spot that actually is, but I'm just going to ride it out. I've purchased four of my five Corvettes from Criswell, and see no point in going elsewhere. But I'm fortunate in that they're only 30-40 minutes from me.

I don’t see a drop out rate of anywhere near 60% on this car. I believe that anyone that has a change of heart or gets an order filled somewhere else will keep their order with the intention to flip for a profit

im with Mike and will stay there…. I was late to the party so I’m looking at a couple years out

Sounds like most of us have been on his list for a while, myself since last June 2020. I think sticking it out is the best choice but it is a tad bit nerving to not have a numbered place in line. If nothing more to have some type of idea where I/We stand. But I'll go with the flow as it seems everyone feels confident and mike seems like a stand up guy.

Why would you get off the list if you have a chance to get a Z06 at MSRP? (I'm on Mike's list too).
Mike is a great guy and everything with him always is above-board - he's the #1 Corvette Salesman of all time for a reason.

I get my C6Z serviced at Criswell too - it's nice being stationed nearby this time around!

I have a time stamped/dated folder with Mike and will ride it out. I know I’m locked in at MSRP and there will be no games.
When I originally told him I wanted a 2023 Z06 (70th MY to have along with my 50th MY) if they produced/released one, he never mentioned he had any doubt about it.

Alright general consensus is I am a big dummy for second guessing being on his list. Noted and accepted

According to this Jalopnik article, Criswell has over 1000 preorders for the Z06 (they didn't mention Criswell's name directly, but with some mild detective work, Criswell is the dealer referred to in the article: https://jalopnik.com/one-dealer-alre...CYJ_MGbznRy65E

1000 on his list could be the same wait as 10 on another Dealership depending how many allocations they get and when.

Hmmm....This is interesting because it appears that the Criswell list is at least as long, and seems like longer than the MacMulkin list, only MM probably gets significantly more allocation. I'm on Mike's list, bought the last Corvette from Criswell, so don't really intend to go anywhere else. But I'm on the list a little after April, so if I'm in the 900's on Criswell, I could probably jump on MM right now at 1200 or whatever and get the car quite a bit sooner (assuming they end up with similar drop off rates which they may not because of different deposit processes).

I'm trying to imagine how his process might go: Say he only has a list 100 long, I suppose he calls #1 and says, "OK, finally ready" and that one might go fine and result in a firm order in what 10-15 minutes? But what if the guy doesn't answer his phone? Do we give him 3 minutes to call back before moving on to the next guy? Or if 1st guy starts asking questions that cause a delay in finalizing an order, then what. Mike can't spend all his time trying to resolve one difficult customer before going on to the next. Or is done by email only?

I guess I'd start calling in batches of 5 and see what I can make of the madness!

Also, when a guy first calls and wants to be added to the list, I'd record a "Confidence Number" beside his name: ie my impression of how serious the guy seems and how much a pain in the @ss he seems like. 10 = Easy peezy guy seems to legit have the cash, knows the deal and seems like no issues at all. 1 = Pain in the @ss, zillion questions, might not actually qualify for a loan, I can barely even understand him, and his breath might stink 😁

My recommendation is not to fret over it. Mike's been doing this for a long time and has it down to a science. The dealership he works for has also been doing it for a very long time; he's got the support structure around him that he needs. :-)

That’s a possibility. I’m still waiting for my C8 allocation from him. I could have switched to MM and got my car this Winter. However with it looking like a Spring delivery here in Oregon I chose to wait. MM does seem to be the quickest as of lately.

I am staying with Mike Furman at Criswell, too long and positive history, not even thinking of changing.
