I'll be board until I start seeing and hearing about real world use. And I will continue to be board for at least 2-3 years as I wait for mine to come. Sorry I sold my C6Z last year. At least I have my 500HP Duramax ...seriously I may buy a muscle car to change things up as I wait. Also may get back into sports car racing as this boredom is...boring... LOL

Why would we get our deposits back? It doesn't hurt to leave the deposit. Not like they're asking the full amount of the car to hold a spot. It's only 2k.

Cars get old. Cars get worn out. If there was one mistake i made before getting the C7Z, was not leasing it. I could have had 2 C7Z's, which would end up me giving the 2nd one back this year, just in time for a C8Z. Because i would've placed my deposit somehow to put my name on the list back in 2019. The smart ones did that. I waited too long. Even debated during early 2020. But figured it wouldn't be a big deal. Once i heard about all the holdups, the shortages, i knew this would be a car that'd be hard to get. And finally put my deposit. Not super late but most likely a 2nd MY. I'm fine with it.

Now i'm with a C7Z that'll be 6 years old this coming summer. Great car. Still runs incredible. But the wear and tear is taking it's toll on it's value.

I'll be leasing the C8Z this time.

Super silly! So you expect that GM come out with the car 1-2 months after the world premier? LOL.......if you don't have the patience then go buy the 911. The Z06 will be an amazing piece of Machinery and the relatively short amount of wait makes it even more desirable imo.

short amount of wait???? Helloooo have you been reading when we will be getting these cars. A short wait is a few months, not years. Just my opinion

This waiting… to be able to buy the current corvettes reminds me of goin to a kickass nightclub, then seemingly fighting with everyone else just to be able to eventually buy an overpriced watered-down drink... (to try to take the edge off). It is very frustrating not being able to purchase something that is legal.

Incidentally, I presume that is why someone invented the 50ml sealed bottle of liquor.

I couldn't agree more. To be honest, I get the feeling Chevrolet is stringing me along on the C8 Z06. A little too much drama and hype for me. I've started looking elsewhere.

I'm still excited for the car. Sure I'd like the pricing to get released, but other than that I'm fine. They have always said "coming this summer" so its not like they are way behind schedule or anything. If I didn't have what should be a first year spot in line I would just be trying to forget about the car for a while. Anyone who was years late to the party and has a deposit that is many years from every seeing a car should just try to forget about it for a while. They aren't doing themselves any favors by obsessing over something that is still years down the road.

I think when people get a little too wrapped up in a car like this they ruin it for themselves. Constantly seeking out more info, watching every little video they can find, analyzing every rumor, etc. It just puts themselves on an emotional rollercoaster and can likely lead to hyping the car up so much in their own minds that it can't possibly every live up to their expectations.

Good news is that the Order Guide/Pricing is now less than 3 months out.

As we know all too well, anything can happen with Strikes, Covid, Supply Chain, etc. but based on the most current production plan volumes and Ciocca’s historical allocation numbers, I think you stand a good chance of getting a late ‘23 MY build slot which means you could be driving by late Summer or early Fall of 2023.

Good luck!

Why do people keep comparing the C8Z to every single car out there? There are different classes/versions of cars for a reason.

Honestly, if GM was upfront about the Z06 being 2 years delayed, I probably would have ordered a base C8 to hold me over. But I didn't because I always thought the Z was right around the corner given that's it's usually a 2nd model year (ie. 2021), not 4th model year. I know that there were legitimate reasons for the delays but some "expectations management" by GM would've been nice.

That being said, I'm still excited for the car but disappointed it will not have the magnesium DCT case like in the spy photos, which would've saved a decent amount of weight off this car which is too heavy, IMO. Hopefully once the magnesium shortage is over they can bring it into a future model year.

For those understandably frustrated given we’ve already been waiting for this thing for years, the thing is… what else is there to look at that compares with this Z06? In my opinion, they created their own segment, nothing out there offers something similar… a NA, high revving and exotic FPC engine, the highest output NA V8 ever offered in a production car, in a mid engine platform. Ferrari owners have been clamoring for something like this since the demise of the 458. Not to mention the insane value GM will offer.

I guess the GT3 comes closest, but good luck getting one of those too (and if you do it’ll be significantly more than a Z06).

If the C8 Z06 formula isn’t a must have for you, sure there are other options out there. But no question it’ll be like comparing apples to oranges, the C8 Z06 will offer a very unique, different, and special experience IMO, and that’s why I personally think it’s worth the wait. Unless the LT6 becomes a reliability sh** show, many who also realize this won’t be dropping off of lists.

I agree with what you're saying, and you're right, nothing else really competes unless you go into an exotic. What bothers me is that GM is dangling the proverbial "carrot" in front of me by not releasing more information. As you said, the Z06 will be very unique and GM knows it. I'm on a list for the C8 Z06, but in reality I don't think I'll see one until late 2023 or later. I'm 73-years old and that's a consideration for me. If I have to wait 2 years to get a Z06 I'll be 75, and God only knows what could happen between now and then. I'm seriously thinking about going back to a "muscle car." I've had Corvettes the past 21 years. It might be time to get something else and do a little modifying.

I hear ya. Personally I feel like we’re past the most difficult part of not knowing anything, initially assuming it would be released the 2nd year of the generation as a 2021 like the previous generations as you mentioned. That wait was tough, and I could understand people jumping ship during that period as there was absolutely zero information from GM. At least we are past that, additional information will be coming shortly and people will have their Z06’s delivered this year.

I don't think you understood or read the OP's complaint and my reply correctly. So when it comes to "reading".....I don't think you comprehend that concept properly! He was complaining about the time from when the car was first introduced to when the pricing and subsequently production will roll out. And FYI, anyone that wants this car badly enough can have it around the end of summer. They will just have to pay an ADM.

I find it interesting reading the comments on this thread.
Most that want the Z06 are trying to find a comparable car (GT3, etc.) that will have the characteristics of a track car, HPDE car, and on and on.
But can we be honest? The vast majority of those that want the Z will be taking it to Cars & Coffees to brag about what the car is CAPABLE of doing. Not actually doing it.
Nothing wrong with this I guess but just amusing to me.
Having been around people that seriously track these cars I can tell you it is a truly small percentage of overall owners.
So don't worry about specs that most will never take advantage of.
I guess bench racing is still alive.
