That is what I want - both. Call it the ZR1 and take the Z06 add 2 electric motors up front, replace the torque converter with another electric motor, PHEV with 10kWh + battery and I'm good.
Voted Z06 mostly due to timing otherwise very close call for me assuming the E-ray is a true hybrid blended mode PHVE. If the E-Ray is a plug in I am personally not interested.

Yes, I understand. I just don't have any interest in electric motors, hybrid car or otherwise. I also understand the performance. Maybe, in time, I'll cry uncle and give in. It is the future, whether I like it or not.

Took delivery February 24 at NCM of my first-ever Corvette and I’m on Stingray’s Future Variant List for an e-Ray. Did not consider Z06; a great car just not for me.
Sold my 2014 HD Ultra Limited and my 2012 Callaway Camaro SC572 to get here. Will miss my 6 speed manual but I’m really lovin’ my paddles and mid-engine feel.
So they're only going to have one year with the SR and Z06 being built before they add the E-Ray. Am I wrong to think Z06 build numbers are going out the window and will be significantly lower than everyone originally predicted? I'm also starting to think the Z06 line will not be available for 'years' to come, and not everyone who wants one will get one. Seems strange to release another variant only a year removed from the Z06 reveal. Has Chevy done this in the past?

Congrats! And you do realize you are exactly the “new buyer” Corvette was targeting with the launch of the C8. Sorry abt the HD sale, I ride as well. If you haven’t already, highly recommend the Ron Fellows 2 Day Corvette School! I did, and I can still only drive my C8 to 70% of its capability, not sure what folks are gonna do with the Z06 (wife has deposit on one) on the streets. Hope a 2 wheeler shows back up in your future!

Considering the potential lineup of various C8 models rumored to be in the pipeline and the expected lifecycle of the 8th generation model, it doesn't really surprise me that much. We are looking at the Stingray, Z06 and E-Ray at least. There will more than likely also be a ZR1 and the rumored Zora. While there's no solid confirmation of the Grand Sport being axed in favor of the E-Ray, if that model gets released, too, then that's a bunch of Corvette models for them to introduce.

Neither the C8 Stingray, nor the C8 Z06 have a torque converter.

Okay. What I want is a a ‘biscuit tin’ axial flux motor sandwiched neatly between the engine and dry-sump, eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Thanks! I first saw the C8 at the 2020 Rolex 24. Chevy had an exhibit with a C8, no skins. It was all over after that. Took me 2+ years.
And Yes, I plan on taking advantage of the NCM Delivery discount and attending Ron Fellows. Had the opportunity to experience Lime Rock in my Camaro and it was exhilarating and very humbling. Now for the comparison.
P.S. The HD exit was a condition by the Mrs. C'e la vie.

I doubt that will happen, not enough room, unless GM goes with a V6 or a flux capacitor, which I also doubt. From day 1 the C8 had provision for batteries in the tunnel and motors up front.

Yes, I’m not sure what the wide body hybrid is actually going to be called though the E-Ray name has been thrown around and it’s the next model to come out based on the visual/sounds in video. Could be called the Grand Sport for all I know.
I am not sure how this video would convince anyone to switch from a Z06 to an E-Ray.
Anyone who has driven a hybrid knows the battery does not stay fully charged all the time. So then the performance drops when you want it. To each his own.
My first electric car (whatever it is) will be a functional daily driver, not a sports/track car.
I agree that my 1st all electric car would be fine as a daily driver but the E- ray still has a gas burner going for it & the torque of the electric motors
