Default Outside Wheel Width

I'm shopping for a lift, likely a four-post and I'm on one of the many waiting lists out there. I want to be sure a Z06 fits on whatever lift I end up buying.

Looking for the outside tire width so I can compare that to the outside width of the lift runways.

TIA

72.89" in the rear from outside to outside of tires. So call her 73". You're gonna need a lift at least 75" wide to give enough margin for error.

Not questioning the accuracy of this, just wondering where you got the info. Most specs list only the track and body dimensions. Did you measure Streetspeed's car?

OP - make sure the body will also clear the posts as it is nearly 80" without the mirrors (I assume folded).

'Track width' is centerline of tire to centerline of tire on the same axle. This is 66.3" on the Z06. We know the rear tires are 345s, or 13.58". Add that to your track width and you get 79.88", or basically 80". I screwed up my math and only added half of the tire width first time 'round forgetting that there are two sides to the car because I am stupid and because bourbon. Apologies for that.

Incidentally, regular C8 is 74.4" which gives you an appreciation for how much wider the Z06 really is. It really doesn't translate in pictures but it really does make quite an impact in the flesh (ugly wishbone and all). It also somehow blends better with the high, square back necessitated by the golf bag in the trunk requirement. I can't really explain it but it only comes through for me in person.

Anyway, good luck with your search for a lift for your beastie. You are smart to be deliberate in your planning as there are plenty of 4-posters that she wouldn't fit on.

edit: realized I switched the front and rear tracks, rear is actually 66.1". I also went the extra mile and checked the section width of both OEM tires (slightly different than the tread width number). Both are specc'd at 14" wide. So my final, final answer is the rear track on a Z06 is 80.1".

Thanks for the helpful information. Most four post lifts are going to have some tire overhang with that width. Which is pretty much what I expected.

You're going to want about 83" min between pulley covers.

Bendpak HD 7500BLX will take it with no overhanging tires. 82" rise and only 7500lb capacity but if you don't need anything heavy duty, it'll do.

Technically, you don't need to add half of tire width on each side since we have an offset on the wheel. I assume track width is measured at the mounting flange of the axle, not from the wheel centerline. Either way, close enough.

I have a 2 post and a 4 post. My 2 post is a challenger which is awesome. I went with a Best Value Lift on EBAY. Laugh if you want, but it is not my first rodeo and I am VERY happy with what I received. My big think is I wanted more than 74" clear height under and the right length for my space.

Talk to Ted Smith via phone from his ad. Everything he said was correct and I saved alot while getting a really great lift.

That is axle track. Track width is definitely centerline of wheel to centerline of wheel across an axle.

Considering the Wildfire Standard It has 87" drive through clearance with 76" wide runways. So, there would be about 2" of overhang on each side, but it looks like it will fit. I've seen some folks add 4" angle iron to the runways for more room. Could do that, giving me 84" total.
