Looking to set up Z mode for Launch control and use it for the 1st time and see some 0 to 60 times. Does the 3 parameters needed ( Track mode, ESC off, Traction off ) make any slight bends dangerous for losing your back wheels and only be attempted straight line? Seen too many Cars and Coffee videos.

Usually you have to turn ESC/Traction off to activate the PTM setting that has it's own traction strategy. Unless you're in Race 2 or whatever the 'all off' version is in a C8Z, you'll have some stability and traction still managed in Sport I or II.
I'd read the PTM section of the owners manual in addition to the launch settings
From experience with 2 C7 Z06s, you REALLY want to be dead straight. If the car makes a hard shift at/in the slight bend even, it COULD overcome the nannies still. The nannies HELP prevent tragedies but can't overcome STUPIDITY. Even dead straight can be a butt pucker moment if the rear caster not properly adjusted ( if C8s have that like C7s do).
Tnx Rob. Will be careful to be straight. I see some slight wheel spin in the videos but never seen them get completely loose.
Had stern warnings from experienced drivers not to use race mode on the street in my Ferrari F430 but I think the vet will be a little more forgiving

I use Race in my F430 all the time - it always grabs early on a power slide and cuts power. CST off is the dangerous one.
In the C8Z PTM Sport/Sport II will be like F430 Race. C8Z Race will be like CST off
/ The vehicle must be in Track mode.
/ Quickly press the TCS/StabiliTrak button on the center console two times.
/ To select a mode, turn the Selective Ride Control/Performance Traction Management MODE SELECT ****.
/ PTM contains five modes. Mode 5 is Race with Active Handling off. It is for use by experienced drivers who are familiar with the track, requires the most driving skill and should be used in dry conditions only. StabiliTrak is off and engine power is available for maximum cornering speed.
Easiest way to get into Launch Control is to have your PTM mode aready preset in your Z-mode selections and press Z mode button twice in a row to go into PTM mode and LC is immedieatly available. (You MUST have a PTM mode already preselected in your Z-mode customization menu.)
Say youre sitting at a light, you just hit the Z button twice and then immedieately press the brake all the way to the floor, mash the throttle down and then release the throttle. You can go from normal mode to being in LC in like 3 seconds this way. Easy Peasy.
I was taught to use PTM Sport at Ron Fellows on track and that is certainly still my perferred mode, but PTM Dry will still do the trick and be a bit safer. I wouldn't run Race1 or Race2 on the street. Think of PTM Wet as keeping the most nannies still active and Race 2 as keeping the least amount of nannies active (still without turning everything off). Its a gradual scale of less and less nannies helping assist you from PTM Wet to PTM Dry to PTM Sport to R1 & R2.

Regardless of launch control, yes when you have the traction control off or partly off with race mode, you should be careful. It's 670 HP lol you should be careful with any car that power going around corners
I have Z-mode set with Track PTM so double tap. You have a number of choices Wet, Dry, Sport, Race 1 and Race 2. Sport should give you enough nanny protection while allowing full power, Both at the Ron Fellows School, at a 1-mile trap speed even on back 2 lane highway in Ely and at the Gila Bend airport I have used the automated modes, Sport is benevolent although takes off quickly, Race 1 and Race 2 do allow more movement from the back end but I did not find it dangerous at all. At Gila Bend I also played around with the custom modes and got my best trap speed with 4000 RPM launch with 15% slip. The launch area pavement was not very good at Gila Bend.
There are several You-Tube videos that will help you set up launce control, just Google C8 Z06 Launch Control.,. You can also read thru that section of the OM.
