I think when my order eventually comes up that I may go HTC as opposed to coupe. Doubt I would use the HTC with top down more than 10% of the time. For those who own one have you noticed any negatives such as squeaks or rattles when top is in up (closed cockpit position)? Thanks!
Not Z06's but no noises in mine, sold a 22 coupe and bought a 23 HTC because I like the look better, like you the top won't be down very often. Very happy with the car. The exhaust seems quieter to me in the HTC, maybe it's just me. I don't have to dry out the engine compartment after washing either!

I've had two Stingray HTC's. No squeaks or rattles at all! The thing is solid.
Zero squeaks/rattles in my '21 Stingray and so far zero in my ZO6. I DID have a terrible rattle in the ZO6 on the way home from the dealership which only turned out to be when the tech did the PDI he left the passenger seatbelt out of the unsnapped belt retainer.
After 36,000 miles on a 2020 stingray htc and 5k on a 2023 z06 htc, I am shocked at how such a complicated mechanism is so trouble free. I would always choose the htc, to me it is a no brainer. I don't see the downside. Even the spring mountain instructors said there is no noticeable performance decrease. I guess the only downside would be not being able to see the engine, but now GM made an engine window that will be an option on the 2024, anyone will soon be able to buy and easily install on previous years as well, so now that isn't even a downside. I guess there is subjective looks, but to my eye the HTC looks better. I had a c7 z06 with removable roof panel, and even though in theory you can go topless, the extra effort caused me to rarely take the top off, and also the fact that there might be something in the trunk competing for that space. With the htc I can do it at a whim, I don't have to stop and get out of the car, and the space the top goes is always available, and if it rains I know i can put it back up quickly, so I put the top down 100 times more often. So while in theory the base model is a convertible, it doesn't compare to the htc in practical reality. I don't even like the sun, but I find lots of opportunities to put the top down when the sun is down or on cloudy days.
I have a 2021 , had a 2022 and now have 23 ZO 6 all are HTC. No squeaks or rattles. Only issue I had was on my 21 there was a sensor that had to be re-adjusted. Message said " top not secured speed will be reduced to 55". Simple fix. Drive every chance I can with the top down . Love the look and you do hear the engine sound better in a HTC. Even with the rear window down and top up. Plus you don't loose the tr
trunk storage spare with the top down . Try putting your coupe tops in the trunk and you only can store sweat shirts .
I had a '22 SR HTC and now have a '23 Z06 HTC. No squeaks or rattles. Plus the option to put down the back window increases the volume of the exhaust and hence the experience. Also, you hear less engine noise with the HTC since it's insulated under the heat shield and top (if it's down). Even in my '22 SR HTC, I heard pops and crackles that I never heard in my '20 coupe. Obviously in the Z06 it's down right beastly.
Have a 23 HTC with over 12000 miles. No squeaks rattles or any problems. Absolutely love it. Put the top down any chance we get. Takes no trunk space, don't have to get out of the car to raise or lower it, and you can even do it while moving slowly. It is perfect. Would not trade it for a coupe now way. And love the way it looks with the top up or down.
You will use it more than you think just because you can put it up or down below 26mph. There is way more utility there than a standard convertible. I can basically start putting mine down as I'm slowly to a stop sign and as long as I fully stop and pull away at a regular economy car speed the top is done moving and I can accelerate to normal corvette speed.
Then, there is the back window. Which you can lower enough to get a nice air flow from the side windows and also helps to hear the engine and exhaust.
Then it just looks better. So yeah, should be a no brainer but idk.

I'll bet it's down a lot more than that once you get an HTC.
1,200 miles on the Z06 with HTC, flawless operation, no squeaks or rattles, probably my single favorite option, and likewise it is the one I would regret the most if I hadn't selected it.. Use it all the time, far more than I expected I would.
Put my HTC convertible next to a coupe at the club about 2 weeks ago. The lines on the HTC are much, much nicer imo…. Chop top look with longer rear end…
it truly looks mid engine and shows the wide rear fenders more. All IMO

I think you'll find you'll use the HTC more because it's easier with the push of a button as opposed to having to remove the TT.

Absolutely. I love my HTC and the way it looks with top up and top down. I have never liked the look of the C8 coupe. The rear window makes it look odd to me.
Picked up my zo6 vert last week. Coming from a c7 zo6 vert I can say that there's a world of difference. It's faster retracting up & down & quieter and looks great to the point of my being almost conflicted to lower it. I know its early but no squeaks or rattles to date, (2,400+ miles to date).
My Stingray and now my ZO6 were/are HTC's. Best choice I could have made! I think the 'viewable' engine in the coupe is a novelty that will wear off over time, (not to mention people leaning over your car for a look see), and the owners will be wishing they opted for the functionality of the vert.

I was deeply conflicted about which way to go, until a local chevy dealer had both a used C8 HTC Stingray and a used C8 Stingray Coupe on the showroom floor together, and both in black. After spending some time walking around them both and comparing them, I decided I liked the HTC better. It just looked better to me, and had better lines. (just in my op, of course, don't want to ruffle any feathers.)
