The rumored LT2 replacement that I refer to above, I will simply call a LT-C variant (with the "C" standing for CPC DOHC) of the LT6 architecture that would form the base of the TT LT7, however, it would still have the DOHC, but it may not suffer the LT6 valvetrain issues because in order for AFM, you need something akin to a hydraulic iifter to deactivate 4 cylinders...the other difference being the jury is currently "hung" on FPC vs CPC in some circles on the ZR1, personally I stand behind a 5.5L FPC TT LT7 but would NOT be shocked if somehow, due to firing order/cam timing/etc that when combined with VVT/AFM, (which the LT6 does not have) the LT7 "sounds like" a FPC ONLY at low RPM/VERY light load because of the VVT/AFM kicking in when in actuality it is a hydraulic lifter 5.5L TT LT7!!!

I may eat crow on my FPC LT7 prediction but I suppose it's possible to be a sheep in wolves clothing because I forgot that this motor gets VVT/AFM which may explain away the LT6-like low load/RPM exhaust sounds and the lack of quick High RPM rap up because it doesn'thave a "solid/shimmed" valve train, but a hydraulic one!!!....hmmm FPC vs CPC....!!!

what Jason is trying to imply, is that the ZR1 has the current SR 6.2L pushrod LT2 as the base motor with "two helpers"! Absolutely inconceivable and impossible!
From watching the videos I didn’t feel
like Justin was implying it’s SR 6.2 with turbos. He just said it’s a 6.2 CPC.

I don’t think a ZR-1 buyer would be impressed with that….

However I do like the idea the ZR1 is using a FI version of a new DOHC CPC = LT7

Default Does it have to be TT's

What if the C8 Zr1 had a LT2 with higher performance internals and tune and a 3L supercharger. That would do away with some space issues in the engine compartment.
Production-level Callaway Corvettes generate 687 horsepower* and 643 lb-ft of torque* This is with just 6-7 lb of boost on a stock LT2 with LT2 air cleaner and exhaust.
With the 3L Callaway supercharger there appears to be much more room to make more power. This is a larger supercharger than was use on the C7 Zr1 which made 755hp or 772hp with the GM performance air intake. I do not see why the same performance parts from the C7 Zr1 engine and the larger twin screw 3L supercharger making 9-10lb of boost could not easily make 800+HP. It would also preserve the deep engine sound the Corvette is known for.

I don't agree...since the SR today has a 6.2L LT2, you can't say, oh, what he really means is there is an ALL NEW DOHC 6.2L in the SR and the ZR1 is the first recipient of it in FI form, he clearly didn't say that ....even so, I'm calling BS on Jason in Public for the whole world to see, no 6.2L, it's 5.5L LT7 TT, the only debate should be how are they accomodating AFM becase that may account for the "different" sound of the LT7 because of this unique valvetrain feature!

Sorrry to beat a dead horse, a push rod motor will not find it's way into the Zenith of the C8 Generation!
