The powertrain for the 2025 ZR1 has been a huge topic of debate. Back and forth about whether it’s a twin turbo or an electric motor with a Z06 motor. New evidence including an article with photos from Motortrend magazine suggests the unthinkable , both !
An LT6 Z06 motor (possibly modified) with a twin turbo coupled with TWO electric motors up front!! If this is true it would produce well over 900hp and be an absolute beast!!
There would likely be NO Zora as this would be a true Supercar. If this is true (and it’s starting to sound that way) we will have a super/hyper car on our hands.

Reason: Edit
I've been saying from the start that the Zora is entirely made up fiction. It doesn't and won't exist. ZR1 is top dog, always has been and always will be. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, and ill thoroughly enjoy watching what all 20 people who get a car do with it, but at the end of the day I really don't believe it will come. If the ZR1 came with the TT hybrid, that would be glorious. 900+hp ZR1 sounds amazing to me.
The ZR1 spy pics from the Nurburgring suggests that it is not electrified. There were no telltale yellow stickers to identify the car as being electrified. The ERay had those stickers when they were at the Nurburgring. Pics from ERay forums and Car and driver.

Yeah GMA sucks, its ran by the same people that run Ford Authority, they have no official affiliation with ford or gm, they just spin bullshit to get clicks and sometimes try to report something kinda factual.
Availability of the ZR1 is generally very very poor, so not ready to believe that one could be available to me yet. Will be watching...
But IF there are dual electric motors up front I am not interested. The C5 Corvette is a favorite of mine, and I love my car. The lack of product support after 20 years though is a problem, and the C5 corvette's steering sensor, ABS sensors and other very important parts that have been discontinued by GM makes some repairs impossible to make. With that said, the complexity of a potentially vestigal type of Corvette that is meant to please a very specific minority during a short space in time is unsustainable. The news over the last week suggests automakers are realizing that regardless of the short term sales records of these electric cars, buyers that have bought them generally buy an Internal combustion car after that, or add a gas powered car because of the difficulties in managing your life with such a car. While hybrids have a potential place, I don't want anything to do with one 10 years from now when the battery comes from an aftermarket Chinese manufacturer and has none of the OEM standards...and this has no place in this type of machine.
This car seems to be hugely fast. For it to be valuable...and newsworthy, it has to be a pure motorcar....
If it’s just twin turbo can they do that to the existing Z06 engine ? The car will be heavier and can’t sound as good as the Z06. Sure it’ll be faster but I’m not sure better..

I cant see GM boosting a flat plane crank motor but who knows. I feel like were gonna see a CPC version of the 5.5 with twin turbos on it.
