My car was built 6/4/24 and scheduled to be picked up at the museum 7/6/24. They even asked me if I was sure I really wanted the car to sit outside for a month, but I wanted 4th of July weekend. Its been 3800 status for the past 20 days with no movement. I talked to the museum and they said cars stuck at 3800 are starting to pile up and they are having to move pickup dates often. They think cars are probably being built missing a single component that will be installed later once available.

My money is on the seatbelts... or maybe just the black seatbelts?: https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2024...tractor-issue/

Mine's been sitting in the lot outside of the NCM for almost a week. Pick-up is next week. In the mean, some very small pre-PDI snapshots of it, courtesy of the NCM:

Got this on the chevy chat bot today....

Congratulations! Your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional detail on that process. Your car is BUILT

Still no idea what the VIN is nor was the dealer able to provide additional information yesterday....or they were too lazy to look in workbench.

I got my 3400 email two days and reached out to the dealership to see about obtaining the VIN. They just text me the VIN this morning. Tell em to stop being lazy and get it for you 😂

I don't have much faith in the bot. When ever I check on it, it tells me my order has been accepted! But, I already have a VIN and my TPW is this week!

Agent said car is at 4000 now.... still working on getting the actual VIN

Got the full VIN, no window sticker yet to validate build.

Why are they sitting on window stickers now?

I am not (right now), this one is actually for a buddy of mine and I helped him build it and have been tracking the status for him.

Here is a timeline of events for my C8 Z06...might help give some other an idea of timing...even though YMMV..

Order Placed and accepted 5/2 Status 2000
Accepted by Production control 5/7 Status 3000
Scheduled for production 5/17 Status 3300
Broadcast (parts being pulled for production) 5/30 Status 3400 Received VIN 7358
Produced! 6/7 Status 3800
Ready to ship 6/21 Status 4000
Shipped to Dealer 6/24 Status 4200
Arrived at Dealer 6/25 Status 5000

Was a little nervous that the car sat at 3800 for two weeks, but apparently that is not uncommon.

Car is now going through PDI and having the Jake decals installed and other LPO items installed. I am also having Carbotech 1521 Brake pads installed....Loved them on my 2015 Z51

NOTE...The Scrape Armor front radiator grill guards are on back order until 7/1 and were not shipped to the dealer from GM. The dealer was not going to begin the PDI process until those arrived, and there is no ETA since Scrape Armor has to ship the backordered parts to GM and then GM would need to ship to dealers... so I told them to forget the install of the Grille guards for now and when they come in I will be installing them myself.....Dealer said he has multiple cars waiting on delivery because of the back ordered scrape armor....

Delivery for this Friday 6/28 or Sat 6/29!

So excited as I sold my C7 a few weeks ago.... It was such a great car and hobby for almost 10 years...Was genuinely sad to see it go...

I am looking forward to many fun and exciting years with this new Z06!!!!

More to come as I will be starting a build thread as I install many mods...

-M

I did see that...Thanks. My biggest concern was that Scrape Armor has to ship hundreds of these to GM first and then GM would need to ship to the dealer...Could take a few weeks...

So what happens if you order a car from an out of state dealer, and these do NOT show up before you pickup the car? Pretty sure that GM is not going to pay a second dealer to do the install later...
