Could have been Instant on radar and targeted him last second or got hit with Laser, Which no radar detector will save you from a laser hit 99.9% of the time

I’m asking how he got caught with a radar detector, not how he got caught speeding. Mostly curious if the cop just saw it or used something like a spectre to detect it

It was an older Uniden that didn't have any stealth capabilities, I was heading south on I81 about 1.5 hours south of Winchester Va and i wasn't paying attention.... It was the Sate Police, the guy was pretty cool about it, I thought he was going to just give me a warning but no luck….

Cops also run radar while on the move, waze isn't going to do much for that.

I'd had a radar detector in the past and now run waze every time I drive. Waze isn't a complete replacement for a good radar detector.
The ride between Myrtle Beach and Charlotte is a nice ride on flat secondary routes, it is very hard to not drive over the speed limit but even in the middle of the day there is very little waze interaction…on my last trip back to MB my escort alerted on an unmarked car driving about 1/2 mile or so ahead of me for like 25 miles….waze would have never picked that up…
I would install the Escort Laser Shifter all day long if it wasn't illegal here in SC...

He had to have picked it up, it was mounted tucked up underneath my rearview mirror and hardwired, he was on top of a hill in the median and too far away to be able to make it out, even if it was stuck on the windshield ..but I don’t know what gear he was using…

thanks, great forum, but I didn’t see any information on installing ALP in a C8, I did see a video on YouTube
and they remove both front and rear bumpers to install heads!😱 no information on how they install wiring into passenger compartment.

Yea I looked for you as well and didn't see anything, I think a few members have done the install--You should join up and ask the question, great group of people over there and hopefully someone has some insight on it. My screen name is the same over there!
