If they weren’t illegal in SC I would have the Escort jammers installed.

I highly recommend ALP jammers, especially if you go through any state with the Dragon Gun--best in the business in Jamming and keeping up with the Lidar world with updates when needed! A little spendy but worth every penny---Call and talk to Tom
For the Vette I would get 3 heads across the front

With how accurate and up to date Waze is, is there really a need for radar detectors/jammers these days? Not hating, honest question. My comment is related to long distance highway driving - not cities.

I think you are pretty accurate with this comment. I run with radar and waze and it's pretty strong at detection. I would however, add the jammer as well to be stealth, especially with new super speeder laws here in Florida. I received a quote for 13K last year, but I think there are much cheaper systems/setups available as mentioned (ALP, uniden, etc). Love to hear if anyone is setup running jammers (who they used /cost).

So i thought that same thing about waze, then I bought an Escort 360C and it is worth every penny especially if you are driving on secondary roads or very early morning/late at light when waze users are few and far between. The Defender database is great and is constantly being updated….

I drive back and forth between Myrtle Beach and Charlotte and my RD picks up at lease one trap each way that waze does not report on….

I have no idea who would quote you 13K to install a Jammer (what brand) They are very simple to install, I run 3F/2R ALP on my Limited F150 and did the install myself--well worth the money and has saved me numerous times, the cops can hide good on overpasses ect.. and hit you with Laser (instant save) I will be getting front/rear setup on my Z06 later on this summer! Uniden, Escort, and TMG are great jammers but my money goes to Tom and ALP company! great guy to deal with and they keep the jammers up tp date constantly.

AutoMods in Sarasota. They hide the pucks with 3D printing, etc. I will look at the ALP and see if there is an installer in South Florida. What price did it run you?

Yea I can see the price increasing when you get it really customed installed like that! I bought my setup 6+ years ago so price has def increased since I bought them. With 3F/2R (reg sensors) I think I paid little over 2K, Im still on CPU V4 and they are on Ver6 now with improved heads from my setup. I have replaced 1 bad head so far, system is very solid-I have a TSS laser that I test my setup with every once in a while to make sure all is well and its a fun play toy lol.
I see they advertise Radenso--I would stay FAR away from that---very little support if any and def not up to date

Thanks- I'm staying far away because of the 13K! I do hear good things about the ALP setup.

Waze is great for speed traps during the day. A quality radar detector will be your best chance at night or when a cop is moving. My V1 had saved me more than Waze has.

I’m familiar with ALP which seems to be the best especially with there updates, my question is how difficult it is to install on the C8,considering those 3 heads installed in bumper and the wiring which it entails?

I have not looked too closely yet, but the front is wide open for 3 sensors to be placed and the cables running up thru the frunk and their should be an entrance point for the cables to pass through the firewall. You can put the CPU/Speaker under the dash any place and just need a Switched hot and a ground for power! I have installed 3 into my various vehicles with little issues! Have not done a C8 yet lol, but should follow same principles

Vortex Radar on You tube has great reviews across the spectrum and the ALPs while pricy always seem to dominate. Running 95 up and down the east coast Waze and Uniden R8s have been ok but a Laser setup would be better as VA and NC police tend to shoot from standoff distances, off axis and pop put of nowhere.

I got popped a many years ago (2017) in Va with a radar detector….the cop could have cared less that I was speeding, he was more happy that he nailed me with having RD, $100 fine and all the crap that went along with it..

im not worried on placement of the heads, I’m concerned about how to get the wires from the front through the firewall?? Looking for a link on “how to”
install on C8. Radar detector and Waze not enough
I would also install a radar jammer too,but of course
that’s highly illegal🙄

The usefulness of waze varies wildly from place to place and time of day. On the highway near a city? Sure, its solid. On the highway out in the middle of no where or middle of the night? not so much. Backroads? Pretty useless

Cops also run radar while on the move, waze isn't going to do much for that.

I'd had a radar detector in the past and now run waze every time I drive. Waze isn't a complete replacement for a good radar detector.

How'd you get caught? Just curious. I live in VA and used to have a radar detector.. used it constantly for years, never caught. It was one that is basically undetectable and I always had it on the windshield in a place where it would be hard for a cop to see.
