I am also wondering how they channel all that airflow out. The C8Z has a huge area of air intake space on the front. Much more so than C7Z. C7Z has the hood extractor and the vents behind the front wheels in order to extract airflow from the front openings. Where will the C8 front end extract all the air to? All of it just dumping out into the wheel wells? It's not just a matter of heat extraction, but you also need to give the air a path to escape to prevent generating lift at the front of the car. Maybe the huge splitter and canards are to offset this.

That only applies to the side quarter vents. More air in, more air out. I agree that half the bumper exhaust vents are still covered.

I think we're going to have a hood vent. It's just covered up.

disagree… they’re doing max effort ring testing and probably trying to set lap times for marketing. They’d need that vent functional to reduce lift. They’re not going to ditch the funk just yet. With the targa roof out you need the frunk to run any errands.

But, no biggie. We'll know before long.

In the video they're not setting a lap time, but that doesn't mean they're not trying to do it on this trip. Costs a lot of money to cart the operation over there and with COVID BS lingering who knows if a travel restriction will come back.

And yeah, just when we thought we were getting Covid bs behind us . . . . . .
Would be nice if they got a stretch of good luck for a change. And decent weather.

Great Picture! This shot also shows the side intakes un camouflaged and at their current shape and configuration. The rear wing while initially hard to get used to is not decorative, it is like the front wing of an F1 car and directs the air rather than only planting the tail end. It’s a pretty elegant wing. This shot to me is the best look we have seen….

An official lap requires a quite a bit of orchestration and money these days (since 2019). Meanwhile, it is common for manufacturers to use track segment times during testing in segments where there was no traffic or interruptions. Afterwards all the different segment times can be totaled to get a pretty decent ballpark of a complete lap time for a given vehicle.
