Great for Hendrick, great for Chevrolet, GREATEST for veterans. Nothing wrong with raising money and awareness to support our heroes. Nothing guarantees Mr. Hendrick wins the auction either, anyone and everyone is able to buy. The auction is great for everyone involved, and I can't wait to see the hype it brings!!!

Chevrolet ought to just stop wasting people's time, and ship the damn car straight to Hendrick. We all know he's going to get it.

They do this with all of the first built corvette models and Rick Hendrick always buys it.

I am guessing $2 Mil. And who cares if Hendrick buys it as long as it's going to a good cause which it is in helping a lot of Veterans!

I always wonder if bidders get together before the bidding starts. One bidder doesn't get the price up. If Hendrick wants to pay $3 million for tax reasons he may approach a friend and ask him/her to be the opposing bidder to get the price to that level. If another bidder comes in then drop out.

All good as the money goes to charity.

So VIN 002 will also have to pay $3M. "I know that's above MSRP, but my sales manager said that's the market right now."

In most instances the "auction" is just window dressing. The deal has been made before the actual event...per Mecum auctioneer who shall go unnamed. BJ may be different.

Yeah Rick might be writing a big check for this one. But that's ok, it's going to a great cause.

Mr. H paid $500k (to charity) for the VIN # 00001 C7.R at BJ in Vegas.
Rumor is, he then bought # 2 and # 3 thru his dealership.
I am the second owner of # 00004 C7.R - yellow A8 vert.
# 1 seems to be his favorite number.
He has MANY # 1 cars.

In any auction the only thing that comes close to being accurate is a belief that the auction house will be paid, and even that doesn't occur under some circumstances.

So, Rick Hendrick bought VIN #1. Where does that slot in with the "first production" unit that's being auctioned off at this next auction? Is #1 not a production vehicle?
