Corvette's 70th Anniversary Edition Z06 Revealed

Agreed. Should've been pearl white, adreneline red dipped interior, no stripes, and polished/machined wheels. No 2nd color combo option, and suspend arctic white for the model year like they did with black for 2012, to push buyers to the Anniversary pkg. This honestly shouldn't have taken much thought, but it appears they way over-thought it.
2012 Arctic here. Don’t know what you mean that they suspended white in 2012. Maybe you meant you couldn’t get a white 2012 centennial corvette, as they were limited to just black.
But I’m glad they went with white. Sucks the 40th anniversary is ruby red. They did right by the 60th.
Obviously white was the first color, and GM has limited white before. For example, white C5 Z06 were only offered in 2001. They limited white C6 Z06 to the 2007 Ron Fellows edition before finally giving in an offering white Z06 in 2010.
the 1 millionth and 1.5 millionth corvettes off the assembly line were white.
okay history class dismissed. Lol

Not that I'm interested in getting this option, since there's no real benefit besides color/decals/badge, but do you think this will be a limited option or continuous throughout the run?

Jeremy, thanks for the pics and info. However, I have never been a fan of the Anniversary packages. It's alot of fluff designed to empty your wallet. If it doesn't enhance performance I'm just not interested.

I would not count on it... Special edition colors (interior and exterior) are never offered to general production line. No one would pop $6,700 for that "special" color package with some badges.
Never before has special edition colors been offered before or after the release. So if you want these two colors, buy the package.
However, the C8R was designed with existing colors (exception).

They won't be offering 14 colors. The paint shop can only handle 12 colors, so if these 2 are only available on the anniversary edition, then that means only 10 colors for other cars. That's not likely. I'd bet Arctic White and Black go away for 2023, and come back for 2024.

GM does this with the Sierras & Silverados offering a white & black, and a pearl white & metallic black. Makes no sense why when they could just do one shade of each and then offer other colors in the place of the other.

They almost did it with the Carbon Edition Z06, almost. It has many performance enhancements over the standard Z06 with the Z07 Ultimate Performance Pkg, but then they made an equivalent number of Z07 cars the same year - basically the same car without the decal pkg, gray wheels instead of black, and black roof instead of body-colored. Then offered the Z07 pkg for 2012-2013. The Carbons still command a good deal of $ over a standard Z06, but they shouldve just left it at 252. It's all about the $ though.
But if they do opt to light weight the frame for the more expensive variants, what if they apply this weight savings measure to a future, truly special edition Z06 (and any other weight reduction they apply to these models to combat the extra weight they will add with forced induction or batteries and electric motors)? A Z06 Carbon Edition taken up to the next level… that would be the C8 to own IMO.

I am still curious about all the other pricing that was revealed in this slip up. Can anyone share?

GM Design Department: where should we put this 70th anniversary emblem so it matches the lines of the car?
Answer: who cares! They’ll buy however many of them we make. Let’s just slap it on the door and go have some beers.

Disappointing! Horrible! Embarrassing! FAIL!
Every frickin' one of them will be pre-sold. And every frickin' one of them will go for well above sticker price from the selling dealer (despite the recent GM letter).

Other than the badges and the fact it doesn't have the CF wheels I really like it. Looks like there is a new stripe color too - satin matrix gray. I hope it looks something like the 997 Sport Classic.

I love that. Having thoughts of going Silver Flare with custom silver stripes to give a very similar, subtle look. I’m not usually a stripe guy (or a silver guy) either.
Satin matrix grey stripes sound like a very interesting option with certain colors to provide a similar subtle but racy effect. Look forward to seeing them.
