With the C7 Z06, they were about $7,500 as a standalone option.

If something ever happens and you need to replace one of those rotors out of warranty... they are about $1,500-2,000 each.

Price not yet disclosed but could be in the $7K range (pricing March 24 or thereabouts) for the CCB option only, Price would be included in the Z07 package. The current mini-visualizer implys there will be more caliper color choices if yo get CCBs. Some have indicated they do occasionally squeal on the street. They will wear for the lifetime of the car, on the street. Most that track their cars hard take the CCBs off and put on a big brake kit with iron rotors as the consumables are much less, then put the CCBs back on when they sell the car, resell the BBK.

Expensive replacement cost compared to steel rotors.

but definitely a lot more reasonable than PCCBs on a 911.

I don't Remember all the details exactly so forgive me for some inaccuracies, but something with the GM hats allows for a much cheaper replacement compared to Porsche for the ceramic rotors. And of course the differences and only less brake test but significantly less unsprung way to which when you add in the carbon wheels should make a tangible difference.

I wonder how much the z07 package with all the aero bits and ceramics will save compared to buying all the parts individually...

I'm thinking of speccing the car as cheap as possible on the inside because I'm going to be changing out the seats to actual race buckets with the halo for safety.. outside is z07 & carbon wheels... and lots of stickers so people will know I'm fast

With these brakes do the wheels still get really dirty like they do with the standard ones?

Powerstop Z26 pads for $200 make less dust than the $7k+ CCB's. Don't take them on the track though, get some Carbotechs or Raybestos for track duty.

I’ve had Brembo sourced ceramic brakes on my last two Porsches and the brake dust was virtually non-existent. In terms of squeal, they are in my opinion no more likely to do so than their steel counterparts. I’ve done thousands of miles without a sound only to have it return for a while and then disappear again on both steels and ceramics. The roughly 10 lb. reduction in unsprung weight per corner vs. steels improves both ride quality and handling response. The expected lifetime durability of the discs and the lack of corrosive brake dust are both additional benefits that help to justify the added cost. I’m buying a Z06 because it’s now a legitimate competitor to supercars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Porsche which are equipped with ceramics as standard.

Just about all non- ceramic brake rotors are not steel, but cast iron from OEMs. I am aware that at least one aftermarket racing brake company sells steel rotors. I run Wilwood GT72 front rotors that are cast iron as are the OEM Corvette rotors except the CCBs.

Nope. Wheels stay spotless.

Lol, I was referring to steel/iron brakes in the generic sense as opposed to carbon ceramic. I’ve probably been hanging out on Rennlist too long and forgot for a moment that I was posting on a Corvette Forum.

Mine are very noisy, especially when cold & with light pressure (like driving in my neighborhood at 25 mph). There is a specific burnishing procedure GM outlines in the owners manual. They should last the life of the car under normal driving conditions, and you check their wear by measuring their weight.

I got C7ZR1 CCBs with Nissan GT-R Hats on 2020 Zilla...Zero brake dust and no squealing...When I get a C8Z it will have CCB.

I can tell those with CCBs that haven't done the track burnishing procedure and then proceeded to drive their cars on the track. They say things like, "The CCBs never dust!" :-) They simply do, but you won't likely notice it unless you've burnished and actually used them. Once you do both things, you will start seeing brake dust on the wheels. It's not obnoxious levels, but you will see it.

Any squeaking/squealing from the CCBs will be due to the pad backings vibrating in the caliper, and you won't hear it till the very end of your stop. The pad material itself makes no noise at all.

When my brakes begin to squeal I know it's time for the bucket, hose wheel brush. Little to no dirt showing on the rims but enough built up on the mechanicals to make them squeal.

Between the majority of Vette owners that put very few miles on their cars, and the guys that replace their cars every couple of years, most will never have to replace iron rotors either under normal driving conditions.

Have had them on my last two Z06/Z07's, both ZR1's and my Porsche's all have them, close to zero dust, so much so on one of my turbo s's I had the calipers done in white, dust was not a problem

100% - they do dust. Not as bad as my previous Grand Sport & the stock brakes, but my black wheels do not stay clean after a spirited drive.

FWIW, I put Powerstop Z26 pads on my 2017 SS (the 4 door, not the Camaro) and, in my case, they are really tough on rotors. I had to have the rotors turned within 10,000 miles and at that point switched them for Carbotech 1521's. The Powerstops are basically dustless, the Carbotechs are "LOW dust", not "NO dust".
Just my experience.
