You must not have driven a Z06. Mine has been 100% street use so far, and it's so much more than a Stingray. Just got back from doing a bunch of twisty back roads in northern Arkansas/southern Missouri, and it was a night & day difference versus when I took the Stingray through the same roads.

Nope... I've never driven one... I mean that's just mine in my avatar.

Here comes the battles of the C8 ownership LOL

The ZR1 is going to destroy. But it'll be expensive. ERAY guys are getting salty about the z06. Z06 guys are getting salty about the ERAY. SR guys are getting salty over all the other variants.

There's a variant for all. The ZR1 is the one to get if you want the ULTIMATE corvette.

Will the ZR1 be the top dog at cars and coffees?

Maybe but only until a car like this one rolls in like it did last Saturday at our C&C

Chivan Supersport $3.6 million car

That has nothing to do with whether or not the availability of the ZR1 will have a positive effect on ZR1 waiting lists. So, you think it will have a negative effect, cuasing Z06 waiting lists to grow?

ZR1 = top dog (until Zora comes), super expensive, bragging rights, track capable to do a few blistering laps at speeds way faster than you really want to go in a non-caged street car.

Z06 = the sounds / experience

eRay = 0-60 luddites and true daily drivers. eRay w/ a LPE Magnusson seems to be an epic car

Stingray = Nobody cares anymore.... about to enter it's 5th MY. Same as all the cars before it... the regular cars fade away and the special ones still have relevance

It actually will.

Because to the "normal" public, a ZR1 is realistic whereas a bugatti never is. Unless you hit the lotto.

When i see cars like that, i'm like wow that's amazing but i don't drool over it because it's something i'll never attain. When i see other cars like porsche, a ZR1, higher end AMG's etc, i become more interested because that's realistic to me.

It's easy to get on a wait list.

Wait until the price is released and those who can't get approved, then that's the real list. Add on constraints, slow production, possible strike, parts shortages again and who knows what else.

It happened already with the z06.

You just said what I was about to say... a $3M hypercar has no relevance to me. I look at it like art... it's "neat", but doesn't get me as excited as something that could actually be obtained.

Then it will be a $#!+ show much like it was with the E-Ray list, and how Ciocca did their Z06 list. So many people ready to jump on the chance to send a deposit. Many feelings will be hurt very quickly. I can't afford a ZR1 anyway, so I am on the sidelines watching.
Assuming that the ZR1 announcement impact is "baked in," is counter-intuitive and without basis. Anticipating this announcement several weeks ago, I called about 10 Chevy dealers in my area. None, even had a ZR1 list and as you've admitted, the world's largest dealer, MacMulkin doesn't even have a list yet. So, your post is bewildering.

Possibly, but again that has nothing to do with the positive impact on Z06 wait lists and you haven't provided evidence it won't.

Thanks for the video link. I'll take one if my dealer gets enough or a few people drop off the list. Likely 800+ HP so I'm sure it will murder brakes and tires on track but it should be fun doing it! Kudos to team Corvette for pushing these ICE cars (Z06 and ZR1) through the design process and to market!

Positive impact meaning easier to get a z06?

It definitely will.

there's already enough feedback on the z06 where people might be turned off by it. And this is where the ZR1 comes into play.

People are cancelling z06 orders and getting ERAYs. People trading up from z06's to waiting for the ZR1.

All of this is happening while production of the z06 soldiers on everyday only creating more inventory that will surpass the demand finally.

All I said in my original post was that perhaps the ZR1 introduction will have a possitive impact on Z06 waiting lists. I'm glad we agree.

Oh ok i was under the impression that you thought it'll still be harder to get a z06.

Yup. GM will build as many as they can sell.

I'm curious if this will be the first vette where the MSRP goes over $200k; the front hood adds a lot of aggression. . . if only they could fix the *** of the C8 as a whole

How hard would it be to add the rear deck lid inlets on a Z06? Would it just be an insert you add and would there be any performance/cooling benefits from it?

Why? they're air inlets/cooling for the turbochargers/intercoolers. They have no relevance on the Z06 setup.

Can't be too hard. Just grab your cutoff wheel and dremel and have at it!

Nah, they will build as many as they can. They will all sell easily. I just do not think they will be able to build as many as they want.
