Default Beware the Red Light Lottery

When are the Police going to end the Red Light Lottery? Here's how it works - Approach intersection at a high rate of speed, traffic light turns yellow, then red - not to worry - bury that throttle. If a car is in the intersection turning left - don't slow down - no - speed up! All is good cuz guess what? That sucker turning left is ALLWAYS to blame! Easy money! The Red Light Lottery is coming to an intersection near you.

I didn't.

I grew up in a town with just 40,000 people and when you walked downtown, you had a good chance of running into someone you knew.

Fast forward 40 years and this Town is now a city with 150,000 people how have moved here from an even bigger city with all it's vice and crimes.

I just saw this very scam in action last night and I was NOT impressed - got to find a place to live where I am not in constant peril for my life.

Get a dash cam you should never make a turn when someone is approaching an intersection and it's not safe. The dash cam will do the rest.

You must drive in brampton this is the reason insurance rates are so high in that postal code. The Indians have been staging for years many work together.

Buddy was a witness a few years ago when the accident happened 2 guys at the bus stop got into the back seat of one of the cars involved....cops could not do a thing.

Just like tax avoidance the honest player pays the most.

OPP statement: “Many of our recent arrests include people from outside our county. This highlights the need for the police and community to work in partnership to resolve crime issues in high crime areas."

Well for your sake I'm happy to report that there were 2 more occurrences of this way of thinking - One I witnessed on Feb 7th, and one on Feb 12 that I got to just as the Police, Fire and Ambulance were arriving.

All 3 of this "accidents" happened within 3km of my home and are preventable if
  1. A) ppl weren't in such a hurry or
  2. B) didn't want a new car paid by someone else's insurance company.

If the Police don't want to do anything about this situation the insurance companies should really be upset by now, as should the support workers (fireman and ambulance) who have to run out to each of these situations

When was the last time you saw a traffic stop? The problem with the lack of enforcement is that anarchy rules the roads now, compounded with the fact that while most drivers have a license to operate a motor vehicle, a lot of them can't actually drive one. Rant finished.

Only time I see cruisers out they are on the highways looking for speeders. They don't seem to patrol for much else.

As for turning left. I just sit in the intersection until the oncoming cars are stopped before turning. If you're worried about someone stopping and then gunning it into your car when you turn then get a dash cam. Having that type of behavior on video will go a long way towards proving fraud.
