QUOTE=raztek;1597115355]Tap into a headlight on the outside and your headlight switch on the inside. Run wire through the knee bolster to the cubby behind your radio and Bob's your uncle.
To use the camera, turn on your lights and expose your 007 bin to see the monitor.
OR...
Get a couple pylons and practice stopping before you hit them.

I use my outside mirror as a guide, when the front of the mirror aligns with the curb that's it and i stop. Works 95% of the time
i thought about the wiring it in to a light, but camera would be on when running lights are on or if wired to headlight, then at dusk, camera and monitor would be on. it think just wire it to constant power and toggle switch.

On the C5 I removed the DRL relay - is there something similar that can be done on a C7? If not and you want to control when the camera itself is on then I don't see any option other than running a wire through your firewall to a switch.
I assumed you did not want to go through that hassle (firewall) as you were contemplating wireless. Is there any other component in the engine bay that can be controlled from inside the car?
If not, each option has its advantages and disadvantages - just need to pick one

i was thinking wireless, but now sure how well it would work, am not tech savvy. hardware the old school way.

I know that you are not interested in a curb alert. However take a look at the Southern Car Parts installation video for it. The one for the C5 is excellent so the C7 one should show how to route wiring and which circuit to pick up in the fuse/relay block. All of that will be directly relevant for a camera.
For what it is worth my car is mega low and I do have a curb alert. Your camera idea is way better!!! Too many false alarms with the curb alert.

Thanks for the in put, but you can adjust the sensor on the curb alert up a bit ? I will scout out SC video.
Thank you

Yes you can adjust it both up as well as in and out (close vs further from the car) but hills especially really trick it. The idea of watching the video is for power feeds and wire routing.
You may not know that there is a really neat product called "add a circuit"
So you find a circuit like the audio one that comes on with the ignition. Pull the fuse, insert the add a circuit stake-on,reinsert the circuit's fuse and then add another fused circuit. So the original circuit has a fuse as does the new one. That is how the Curb Alert works. They are readily available.

Thanks. Yes I have used the add a circuit before it's amazing just the routing of the wiring I will find a grommet on the firewall and go from there but it looks pretty simple and straightforward
