I keep getting amazed by this group every year. From the 23 cars that came three years ago to the 40+ this year. We have doubled what you all have generously given year over year. The total is at over $3600 from today's event an online donations!!!!

My daughter had a fantastic time again and your warmth and kindness to her is very much appreciated. They say it takes a village to raise a child, you are part of her village. The little one will be coming on the Rousseau Run on Sunday October 14th (details later).
I feel blessed to be a part of this community and as promised there will be a 4th edition for our group (a cruise of some form) next year irrespective of how this event grows - YOU have given me the confidence to give it a shot! Wanted to let you know that I have submitted the amount collected to SickKids on Sunday. I received $2310 in cash and sent in a cheque as well which should get posted once SickKids receives and processes it.
In total this great community has raised $3610 so far to help towards the construction of a new hospital at the same downtown Toronto location!
It was heartening to hear a number of stories from many of you on how your children or loved ones have been helped by the hospital, especially the stories of those in attendance who the hospital helped when they themselves were children. It really solidifies what a special place we have literally at our doorstep.
If you would entertain me for a moment, I wanted to share what I have learned through my wife who has been at the hospital for the past 13 years...
It relates to the number of programs they run internationally. We see spots on TV showing missions they go on throughout the world. What we don't get real exposure to is all the other work they do - which is equally if not MORE important.
They don't just go in and perform surgeries for people in need. They go with the primary goal of training local staff on the procedures being done and creating a support network to enable locals to help their communities long after SickKids staff are gone.
This includes training on medical procedures, education of support staff (e.g. social work to help break down barriers and norms that shun kids and often their parents from seeking help often leaves them friendless and afraid to leave their home).
It is humbling when my wife has come back from a trip to know the REAL changes they enable in places far away from our relatively luxurious day-to-day lives.
This is also complemented by the turnstile of Fellows that come from all corners of the world to be trained by the best right here in Toronto. They go back home and apply all the knowledge they gained.
To be able to help a place like this that truly improves the lives of children, not only here but also throughout the world is a blessing.
Thanks for bearing with me to this point. With that, I wanted to once again, thank your for your amazing support for this remarkable place. With what I am hoping to do next year, let's do something remarkable in return.

Faraz, couldn t be for a better cause and for a better family. Very moving. Sa you say, one does not know what goes on behind the scenes and it is amazing. My great nephew spent weeks there a fews yrs backwhen he was 5, half his foot cut off by falling under a lawn mower, would never know, still plays all the sports. Boy next door spent cpl weeks there parayzed from waste down in the wintee and spring, back playing aaa hockey. An aquaintanc had his 15yr old son there all fall and winter and just released 3 wks ago due to a stroke at a track meet, he is at home, going to school and trying to rehabilitate his co cordination and speech. Amzing work they do. I have always been in for anything associated with S K . Its for the kids and they deserve a break in life.
^^^ great to hear. You would be amazed how many lawn mower accidents they deal with each year. You cant hear a child running up when it's on and by the time you see them it's too late. Another one is gas fireplaces where kids fall and reach out and touch the glass leading to severe burns. Even with the pilot only going burns do result. Farah was in the Burn unit for a few years. How they cope with changing of bandages for little ones I have no idea. Breaks my heart to see a kid suffering.

Only 530 kms seemed like more than that lol or is that one way lol. I was falling asleep on 401 so I went into rest stop for ice cap, when I came out there was a test car parked in front of me. Il post a pic later at break from work. Hit the road 6 AM got home at 8:30PM great day in the silver bullet, great time.
Looks like a Cadillac. They recently announced dropping the CTS-V and ATS-V models as they weren't selling well enough. Guess most in "that" market still want imports, and GM would rather sell 'em larger profit SUVs and bigger sedans anyway.
