exactly. is a privilege to drive, so pay for it.
as the stickers. heh, did them on line in the middle of sept, and don t have them yet. and the temp has expired. not worried about it. is just the govt

Still having a bit of concern, have a 90 car that was a bear to pass (turbo/injectors/etc), engine pooched back in 07, off the road since then. Repaired since then, more mod's (couldn't stop LOL). Come April 1st. am I just going to be able to walk in an get a sticker? Went off the road with being E test complient (barely)!

I wonder how this will effect the crack down on classic cars older than 25 years. I know that the cars will still be required to make their vehicles emission systems operating properly with all the proper equipment, but I wonder if they'll still stop the driver and do a road side inspection. A know of a couple members on this forum that got stopped and fined in previous years, right Mike.

It would be another cost saving measure for the tax payers, 1/2 the material cost just to start.

Am I the only one who thinks the E-test was a good idea?
I had a 79 firebird back in the day and that thing stunk, it was awful it should have been pulled off the road but I didn't have to keep up the emissions.
I think about all the crap boxes on the road stinking up the air and I'm not so sure this was a good thing.
Time will tell.

Most vehicles still on the road meet the standards and most people don't modify their cars. I guess we could see an increase in mods that don't meet the standards but I doubt it. My truck essentially shuts itself down (goes into limp mode) if it thinks it isn't meeting standards and it is not really drivable in limp mode so you have little choice but to get it fixed.

Trucks put many times the miles on the road with bigger engines than cars. They should be the target IMO. Some run more than 18 hrs per day

sure. Are willing to pay twice as much for your gas for the fuel truck to deliver it twice as much for your vegetables for the trucks to deliver to the grocery stores are you willing to pay twice as much for everything that the trucks deliver in case you didn't know trucks are the hub of life.

trucks are no longer the issue....any heavy truck engines built after Jan 1/10 runs amazingly clean, and current GHG 17 emissions are even cleaner yet....exhaust now amounts to ammonia vapour ....cargo plane and locomotives as well as ships are way bigger offenders..... a classic or modified car that sees limited use of 5 - 10 k per year or even less makes little dent ...IMO...
