Default Poor Brass Monkey

Just a little bit of information for our Eastern friends who might have been suffering through the lastest "cold" snap. :jester Yesterday at the tar sands in Fort McMurray, it was -40 and with the wind, in excess of -50. I was dressed like the Michelin Tire man and it was still rude.

It's around -20 with wind chill so far. But if it goes below -25, we are calling the army again :D

It's almost up to 0 C here but now the freezing rain and ice pellets started.
Not looking forward to the drive home.

I was north of Sudbury on the week end, getting a little sledding in. It was minus 40C when I walked over to the lodge for breakfast, instant snotsickles on the inhale!! Zipping across the lake at 140K REALLY pushes the windchill factor to the max. Gotta make sure you're drssed right and there is no where for wind to come in......

Jan 3 1979 I was driving my 2002 Tii from London to Edmonton, the warmest point of the day in Grand Forks ND was -65 I was wrapped in a blanket and had to turn the heater blower off as the air was cold by the time it hit my ankles. My wife & I are now on the countdown until we are out of these god forsaken cdn winters.

Have we had enough of this yet??
Not quite ....... yes I love cruising in the vette but I've got way too much coin wrapped up in sleds, trailer, permits, insurance and gear for only a couple of weeks of riding. I'll be ready for warmer temps come .... say .... mid March? I hate to be selfish but I WANT MORE SNOW!!

I couldn't agree with you more. Here on the prairies, there is just barely enough snow for field riding. That only leaves us with about 5 -6 weeks of good sledding. It's that -40 poopie that I can't take any more.

Out here all the lakes are in and staked and most of the trails are good but a few areas are just at the packing stage ........ end of Jan and some trails still not groomed, go figure .....
