Default Reappearing Haze on Surface????

I must have done something wrong.

I sent an email off tho Zanio Tech Support 2 days ago. I haven't heard anything back yet.

So perhaps the forum might help me.

I keep getting a reappearing haze on the surface of my car. I buff it off and it reappears.

So here are the details my story….

On March 30 I picked up my brand new LMB C6 vert at the corvette museum.

After consulting with the Zanio tech support line, we concluded to do the following, which we did:

Wash the car with dawn.
Dry it with cotton towels.
Do not clay bar the car. It was decided that with the Museum Delivery the surface would be pristine.
Wash the car with Z7.
Dry the car with cotton towel.
Apply Z2, with ZFX accelerator.
Let stand an hour.
Buff the car with cotton towels.
Apply Z6, and wipe clean with dry cotton towels.
Apply Z5, with ZFX accelerator.
Let stand an hour.
Buff the car with cotton towels.
Apply Z6, and wipe clean with dry cotton towels.
Apply Z2, with ZFX accelerator.
Let stand an hour.
Buff the car with cotton towels.
Apply Z6, and wipe clean with dry cotton towels.
Cover the car and let sit in garage for a week. Then next week end….
Wash the car with Z7.
Dry the car with cotton towel.
Apply Z5, with ZFX accelerator.
Let stand 30 minutes.
Buff the car with cotton towels.
Apply Z6, and wipe clean with dry cotton towels.
Apply Z2, with ZFX accelerator.
Let stand 30 minutes
Buff the car with cotton towels.
Apply Z6, and wipe clean with dry cotton towels.

At the point I recovered the car and let stand another week.
The following week, I took the car to a indoor car show.
At the car show during prep, I washed the car with Z7
Dry with cotton towels.
Applied Z2 without accelerator
Buff with cotton towels
Apply Z6, and wipe clean with dry cotton towels.

Car looked OK. I noticed a little bit of reappearing haze. But not too bad.

Took the car home and covered it.

Car stood cover in garage for the following week. We had snow last week.

Took the car out to dinner last night. On the way home we got caught in very light rain shower. When I got home I dried her off with cotton towels.
After about two minuets a dull non glossy haze appears on the surface. If I take my towel and buf, the haze is removed.

But let stand another two minutes the haze reappears. I can keep buffing but the haze always comes back.

I washed it again with Z7.

And again under the floresent light, the haze appears....

What’s going on?

Did I not apply it correctly? Did I apply it too thick?

What should I do next?

Default Clay the Car!

Always Always Always Clay The Car!!! If you didn't remove what they put on the car at the delivery I bet that's your problem. Always clay! PERIOD!

Truthfully, and I mean no offense, but claying won't do anything here. This sounds like a paint issue.

Take it to a quality paint shop and ask them about it. It sounds as if there is a problem with the clear.

There is no problem with the paint or clear coat, try this. Simply mist plain water on the surface and buff that off with a clean cotton towel, I assume you have quality cotton towels from a good store and not WalMart or Kmart versions of cotton toweling, good towels are found at better stores like Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The Zaino polish needs to cure after you buff off the residue, I never cover my cars after I buff off Zaino so I am not sure if the cover is causing the haze, but the Zaino probably needs to breathe after buffing off the residue in order to cure...........

if air is the catalyst for cure, and if the cover is a breathable material that should be no problem.

And everyone who uses Zaino say it really easy to use. My arm would have dropped off on the tenth line.

Thanks for the response. I am glad you don't think it is my paint or lack of clay. Most of my Zaino application was done between 45 of 58 degrees. So I can understand a slower cure. But I am a little skeptical of the water mist fix.

There seems to be some type of reaction from the under cured Zaino from the floresent lights, which causes the haze, after 30 seconds of a simple 1 swipe rub. Not sure the water mist will stop the haze from reapperaing, since a plain water wash didn't stop the problem. This is the strangest thing I have ever seen.

I haven't tried the simple plain water mist. But I am praying it will do the trick. I will try the mist this coming week end.

I am out of town till friday. My baby is at home in the garage covered with a NOAH cover. Average low 42 deg, Average high 54 deg. it doesn't get very hot, although it might make 70 this coming week end.

So what does it take to fully cure the Zanio? It's going to be a few weeks since the last coat. But it has been covered and in the dark for most of this time. How much longer to fully cure? How can I make it happen faster?

I will keep you posted if this fixes the problem.

Have you tried using a different product other than Zaino?

I would start by either stripping the Zaino and using a different sealant, or just wash the car and top it with a carnauba wax such as P21S or Pinnacle Signature Series.

If you still have the same problem, we can eliminate Zaino being the problem. If the problem disappears, then we know the Zaino caused the hazing.

I have not tried anything else other than Zaino.

I was hoping to solve the problem with Zanio's recommendations before stripping it and trying a different product.

I will let you know what happens.

This Zaino user is an extreme user, the vast majority of my customers apply one coat per six months.........
