yes, exactly.
water is mUCH safer. If you have ANYthing other than simple dust on the car (i.e. even one fleck of road dirt) - WASH, do not just "detail it off".

There are no swirls at all.

I never use a chamois and only wash/dry in the shade.

I only dry using high quality terry-cloth towels, never washed with regular laundry or that have had fabric softener used on them.

Black is more work but definitely worth it.
