I would go with the 7336sp since it has the 6" counterweights and also comes with sander accessories, not that I ever use them. The 7424 comes with 5" weights as far as I know and could cause a touch more vibration at high speeds.

The 7336 and 7424 are exactly the same machine, and the only difference is the included counterweight. Since the 7424 is sold as a true polisher, not sander like the 7336, it comes with a light white polishing pad and a 5" counterweight. The 7336 offers a larger counterweight (6 -- which is sold seperately) because of its larger backing plate for sanding. In discussing the machines with PC, we have determined that they feel using the wrong counterweight "might" damage the motor/machine in the long run. Based on prices of counterweights, it seems like good insurance.

If you are going to use the machine strictly for the car, then look at the type of backing plate. Most flexible backing plates should be used with a 6" counterweight based on size. That said, while you might find the machine cheaper (7336), you certainly are still going to need pads, backing plate, and other items like car polish. I highly suggest looking at the entire package and considering the one that most fits your entire needs. (Ordering or driving to multiple places to purchase each item, is truly not as effective as getting it all in one swoop)

**I consider the Poorboys kit to personally be the most well rounded, as it literally comes with everything but car wash for your finish. **
