wash 'mitt' advise
i just washed wifes black daily driver . several times i have complained on here about how quickly it gets 'swirls' after being waxed [sealed] . while washing today i realized my problem is probably caused more by washing [discount store mitt] and not just drying method . what should i use and what type of store would sell it [auto parts store?] a discount store would probably have product similar to what i already use . no, i didn't do a search i am not good with computers .

You can also have a look at Zane's post. Has a lot of great information in it.

Do not use the chenille or the other cheap yellow looking (forget what they are made of) wash mitts. They start falling apart during the first use and leave material all over your car.

This is exactly what I do.
Zane, have you noticed they changed the little loop that you hang it up with to vinyl from leather? I am thinking about removing this from my new one so it will not scratch when I use the top of the mit. A lot of the time I will flip it over and wipe with the back of my hand after my palm is dirty. I am guessing this is a bigger problem for left handers since the loop will be on the palm side. Just a FYI.

looks like a great mit for getting into wheels wells and into the wheels themselves

another vote for the sheepskin mitt from Walmart.
have one for the wheels, one for the paint. both have lasted over a year now with no problems.
Be sure to rinse your mitt with the hose often while washing, use the "two bucket" technique, and also using a grit gard is a good idea. Definitely don't use the same mitt on your wheels or wheel wells as you use on the paint. Wash from top down.
Another idea I'll try using this weekend - the foam gun from Autogeek. It's a nice theory that if you precoat the car with enough suds, it may help lubricate the finish more, to prevent these swirls.
