Default Windex

My C6 (yellow) is a daily driver, so I pick up quite a few bugs on the front.
I have been wiping it off every night with windex.
Good or bad?
I don't want to put a bunch of cleaners or waxes on yet, untill I decide which one to use.

I don't know if Windex is either good or bad, but we've found the Meguiar's Quick Detail does just fine at removing all the bugs (and all the other stuff).

Generally, if it's the clear formula, without ammonia, it's ok, but there are better products, like those suggested, and coates miracle mist. If you're using the purple formula (with ammonia) I'd stop doing that.

Default Windex

Windex works fine. I keep a spray bottle of it in each car, and use it to clean windows, clean off suicide bugs, and clean the wheels. No paint damage.

Note: Keep a roll of Bounty paper towels in the car with the Windex, and use them together. Very important that it be Bounty and not some other/cheaper brand. Wet a Bounty and it becomes as soft as a chamois. Spray some Windex on a Bounty to soften it, then use it together with direct-spraying as necessary. Other brands of paper towels tend to be hard/scratchy - the last thing you want to inflict on your paint. Unlike cloths or towels, you can throw away pieces of Bounty the moment they become soiled with what you've just removed. I have wipe-dried a rain-wet car with several Bountys just fine.

one wet hand towel and one dry one.... no wax yet too... Rejex on the desk waiting for a nice dry sunny day (weekend)

not sure why i get bugs (MS color) little nats or something.... i think they like the headlights.....

did not let the dealer detail it (did not want swirl marks) took the plastic off just before i drove it off the lot....

WHAT A GREAT CAR

I tried the Windex but I think Zaino Z-6 is way better to use on the paint. Not only does it clean off the bugs but it leaves a nice smooth surface and ands some shine. I also use it on my windows.

Use the little fabric softened dryer sheets. Just wet the sheet and bug come right off with much effort. Then just rinse the residue off. Doesn't hurt paint ,wax or clear bras. I use them on all my vehicle. I buy the cheapest store brand.

If the bugs are baked on I use Shout spray on stain remover for fabric. It will soften the bugs guts in 10 minutes.

I would use a damp towel or sponge or some QD on them. NOT Windex.
