Default Pad Replacement

Around a month ago I asked about which polisher I should buy. I had a little experience with a cheap rotary, so instead of buying an orbital, I bought the Hitachi. I love the thing. Polished the boat with it, and it took years and years of oxidation off with ease.

Now that I've got the thing, I was wondering how often or when do you guys replace your pads? I have the foam Wolfgang pads. It seems like I will be able to get a lot of use out of them, but I was curious if there was a schedule or something I should be following.

Thanks

There's no set time period. It will depend on the use and care of the pads.

When the velcro backing falls off.
Even then, some guys will just buy special adhesive and glue the backing on again !

Good move on that Hitachi. I got a Makita 9227, and I love it so much, the PC really won't get much use anymore, except as a quick pass over the paint after Makita, before Zaino. I'm convinced you really need a rotary if you're working on the Vette. *&^%$# Vette clearcoat is like Diamonds.
