It's difficult to say what you're dealing with without seeing the "damage," but I would start out trying to remove it by hand considering it's isolated.
Do you have ZPC Fusion already? What products do you have?
Pending how light it is you may even want to start out with Z-AIO if you have it. I have been able to remove real light scratches by hand with the Z-AIO. If that does not work you may need to step up to ZPC. If you have a ROB use it and a polishing pad with the speed set at 5.5. If not by hand will work but will be a little bit of work pending on the size of the area. Apply product to cotton zaino applicator and rub in straight line back and forth using moderate pressure at best. Repeat until area is repaired. I usually mist with Z6 and wipe away residue to monitor my progress. Reapply Zaino to affected area after repair is complete.
Do you want to hide it or take it out? Taking it out will involve either a PC (for minor scratches) or a orbital (for major scratches). If you have no experience it won't hurt to try scratch remover from Meguiars. But that willl take many tries. My advice - hide it with Zaino products, or a few coats of wax, or a few coats of glaze. Then wait until more develop (sorry to say but they will along with swirls). Then get into detailing and get yourself a PC....I blast tunes in my garage..polish my car, smoke a cigar and actually find stress relief in it. Right now I'm patiently waiting for a coat of Z2 Pro to dry so I can buff my car.....good luck. Minor scratches and swirls are all part of owning a Vet. It all depends on how crazy you let it drive you. Being a new car I can see where you are concerned.
This is a great forum to learn things. After many threads I learned that swirls and scratches are going to happen. Learn to eliminate or minimize them with a PC or orbital. Then learn to take preventive measures that will "minimize" future problems. The best thing I EVER did was buy very good microfiber products, a leaf blower to dry my car, a waffle weave towel to finish drying it, Zaino Z5, a good cigar and a case of some nice wine. My neighbors think I am nuts but my car looks SWEET...have fun with your swirls and scratches..BTW Bugman and ZAENO are some of the best advisers I have seen here...there are other contributors as well and I'm sorry I miss all their names

i use fresh micro towels all the time i dont understand how it got there,
You can try Liquid Glass Polish that has worked great on scraches for me. It is the Gold can with the pink C-2 Corvette on it cost around $19.00 usually available at Pep Boy or any higher end parts places.
